“Hospital Overflow Accomodation - Bizarre Arrangement!”
If you are looking for a (spotlessly clean) room the size of a matchbox, overlooking a busy hospital main entrance and air-ambulance landing pad, then this is for you. Two of us were travelling on business. When you first enter the building you are met by what looks like a grocery store and two reception desks. For hospital admissions use the left one, for hotel rooms use the right one. The grocery store turns out to be the hospital 'shop' selling newspapers, flowers, coffee, etc. The room was sparsely furnished with not even a pad of paper and a pen anywhere to be found and with a very narrow single bed with a thin duvet and a single pillow. The internet access was not at all obvious and nowhere in the leaflets in the room did it tell you that to get logged in you have to go back down to reception where they print you out a password which gives you 24 hours of free access, but is only active for 30 minutes and times out if you don't log in during that time. During the one night I was there, the air ambulance landed three times, made a huge amount of noise and shook the building every time it landed. In the morning, the hosital cafe doubles as the hotel breakfast room. The food on offer is good quality and tasty, however, not long after we arrived for breakfast, a large number of new mums in their dressing gowns and pushing hospital cots arrived with their babies to have their breakfasts. Not in itself a problem, but not expected in the average hotel!
“Bizarre Location”
I didn't notice the details of the location and that was a mistake. However, I believe it is also a mistake to list this hotel herein. It is only suitable for hospital visits and/or patients. Siren noise are common and the look is not too different to a hospital, of course. The room had various nurse alarms that children just couldn't resist. Carpets outside not clean. If you are visiting a patient this is the place to stay. If not, I strongly recommend keep looking elsewhere. Parking not included and not cheap.
“Great relaxing spot good transport.”
Good Position
“Pleasant Surprise”
Knowing this hotel was attached to the hospital, we were not sure that we would like the accommodation. However, the rooms were very clean, comfortable and roomy by comparison to other three star hotels in Norway. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Since we just need a place to rest our heads, this hotel was perfect.
“Hard to find it”
It was not mentioned that this hotel is a part of hospital, therefor it was not clear where is entrance. All other service was excellent.
“Unexpected gem”
We didn't know what to expect as this hotel is actually part of a hospital, with patients families staying there. In fact when my kids found out about it they said "we aint staying in no hospital". It is however very comfortable, clean and quite. The quality of the breakfast is very good also. We arrived at 1am and the reception was open, very friendly and helpful. You probably will your own transport, unless you have a good deal of time and as it is part of the hospital you do not have the usual tourist type things in the foyer. I would certainly stay there again.
“A little bit bizarre location, but good hotel for the price!”
Funny thing is, this hotel is connected to the hospital in Stavanger. Women are pushing around their newborn babies in isolates right in the lobby. Hotel is clean and staff is very knowledgable. Out of downtown area but easy to get to from bus #4. Catch it at the #8 stop just around the corner from the station.
“It's a hospital!”
A couple km from downtown, the 'hotel' is located in the university hospital in what appears to be a service started so that visitors could be closer to patients. You literally enter through the hospital and share breakfast with the patients. The room is clean but provides the bare minimum and the helicopters coming and going from the helipads are a bit distracting...
“Strange place”
The rooms themselves are fine, but the hotel is simply part of a hospital. There is no restaurant or bar to use in the evening and as it is not in the town centre, there is nothing nearby on foot to use either. If you simply want a room, or you have a relative in the hospital, then I would recommend it.
“Ei seng å sove i, ellers fryktelig kjedelig og triste rom!!!”
Eneste grunn til at jeg bor på dette hotellet er fordi jeg jobber på/mot sykehuset. Rommenever fryktelig kjedelig og triste!!!
