“A lovely Hotel in a great location”

I was a bit apprehensive when I read mixed reviews of this Hotel, but I need not have worried. The Hotel was in a great location next to the shopping area, but still far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the bars. The room (although not the largest) was beautifully decorated with a wall mounted LCD television and a lovely fire. The bed was probably the comfiest bed I have ever slept on. The reception staff were reasonably friendly, and the breakfast was of a very high standard with a large choice of hot and cold items. I would definately recommend this Hotel to anyone who wants to visit the gorgeous City of Stavanger, and will definately use this Hotel again in the future.

Area recommendations

I would recommend Stavanger as a brilliant destination for a weekend break. Although it is VERY expensive to eat and drink in the bars / restaurants, everyone knows in advance what the prices are likely to be, so ensure you take plenty of money and fully enjoy the experience the great City of Stavanger has to offer. The area around the Harbour is magnificent over the weekend, particularly if the sun is shining and you have the opportunity to sit al fresco and people watch as you enjoy a glass or two of beer with a bucket of prawns.

“Watch out for the price hike!”

The hotel is botique style, fairly small and pretty clean. Very expensive for what it is, rooms in Stavanger generally have a great hike when there are events on in the town as there is simply not enough rooms. I stayed one night out of necessity, paid a lot of money; the perks were simply not there for the cost of the room..

“Junior Suite very nice but view of high street”

We picked this hotel because it was the closest we could find to a boutique hotel in Stavanger. The room was a okay size and the addition of the electric fire was a nice touch. The view we had was of the high street so if you want views of the habour or lake then this isn't the hotel for you. Breakfasts were excellent with plenty of choice from the buffet and they do have a nice restaurant next to the hotel. Staff also professional and reasonably friendly.

“great location! -- great hotel!”

This was a great location--right in the heart of pedestrian shopping in Stavanger, near the harbor. We walked everywhere--the harbor is about a 5-10 minute walk. Hotel staff is very nice -- front desk and maids. Breakfast was great--it was in the restaurant of the hotel, with hot and cold items. the only drawback was the size/configuration of the bathroom. The sink was so close to the shower that you couldn't stand in front of the mirror! so that's the reason for the comfort rating. But everything is new and nice. Windows are sound deafening (we had a street side window--you wouldn't want courtyard--it's not pretty) Beds are all Duxiana, as are most in Norway and very comfortable. Hotel staff was very helpful when we asked questions and asked for help.

Traveller's tip

Stavanger is a nice small harbor town/city. We were there during the food festival in July. We enjoyed the people watching and walking around. Fjord cruise to Lysefjord was a highlight for us!

“Pretty good hotel”

We chose this particular hotel based on its reviews and the reviews of other hotels in the area. The location is fantastic - in the heart of the downtown area, but away from the bar scene. The rooms are small, but we didn't spend much time there. They offered a nice complimentary breakfast. We were not impressed by the hotel staff's lack of organization - we had to have our room key re-coded each day, and some days we didn't get housekeeping service. Also, the staff seemed only partly knowledgeable about local transportation (specifically airport transportation) - thanks to them we almost missed our bus to the airport. Overall, the staff seemed indifferent at best to our requests and questions.

“Hotel Stavanger, en travaux”

Hall d'accueil en travaux , de même que les parties communes de l'hôtel. Accueil tout juste poli et peu d'effort pour répondre à nos questions d'orientation dans la ville. Chambres très confortables et bien équipées. Petit déjeuner agréable. Globalement cependant, le rapport qualité/prix n'est pas bon, même en tenant compte des tarifs norvégiens.
