Despite a cool reception at front desk, I would return to this hotel. Checking-in, the young lady let us stand in front of her without speaking to or acknowledging us. After a minute we asked if check-in was around the corner. She didn’t welcome us, instead said check-in was at 3pm but we could leave our bags behind the counter. Later she took our dinner reservation and likely forgot to reserve a table as the evening restaurant staff didn’t appear to expect us. The person who checked us in was friendlier welcoming us to “this old hotel” she was jovial. I would return because of location and local attractions in the vicinity of Gamla Værket.

Koselig sted.
Veldig koselig fellesområder og restaurant, Helt greie rom, noe slitt men koselige. Frokosten var ikke mye å skryte av, ingen tilbud om egg & bacon, veldig enkelt pålegg. Maten er helt grei, men her kunne man vært litt mer på tilbudssiden. :) Overnatter nok her igjen en annen gang, men håper på litt bedre frokost. :)

Nice Hotel in Sandnes centre
Nice Hotel in Sandnes centre, great for restaurants pubs and train station and the Breakfast was great. Room was at the front of the hotel so a little noisy during the night but clean and tidy.

Nice hotel clean and tidy, great Breakfast but street noise in my room was a little loud. There was also a function room directly below my room and on two occasions during the early morning the sound of chairs/Table being shuffled around, I presume getting ready for the upcoming day but again the noise disturbed my sleep ..

Steep ramps in every hallway, not good to walk.
I haven bad walking and sometimes use a wheelchair, and the very steep ramps made it difficult. Spent most of the time in the room, not easy to be mobile there with a wheelchair.

Eat, drink and sleep in a historic building
Wow, this hotel is really cute. It was a brick making building and the decor matches some of the original equipment. The restaurant has excellent local food and great local beers. The staff was super helpful with directions and making us comfortable.

Lovely idiosyncratic hotel
It was friendly, helpful and the breakfast dining area was particularly attractive. The location was very central, which was the only 'issue' I had. If you forget to close the curtains in some rooms, you would wake to be almost on a level with the passenger on the train station platform across the road.

Overall scores 3 because of excellent service on email beforehand and a very good breakfast with a lot of good choices. Location is perfect if you want to stay in the city centre, but you are then in the middle of the main street... Extremely squeaky floor boards, the faucets were terribly show and there were a few hairs in the shower... not the best value for money and definitely not a romantic getaway.

I was only there overnight, so didn't eat or use the facilities. Loveley location, very clean room. I wish all hotels had a kettle and tea/coffee making facilities. Probably reasonably priced for Norway but way over the top price for most other countries in the world.

This hotel is great for transport links, being next to the train line and bus terminal, and it still maintains a friendly family run, feel to it. My only negative comment would be the price v's quality of some of the food I had for evening meals; e.g. a 13 GBP bowl of fish soup is over priced and the risotto just tasted of salt, bad enough for an Englishman to send it back! All in all a nice hotel but you shouldn't mind paying 40 GBP for a bit of fish if you intend to eat here.

Et flott opphold i Sandnes sentrum!
GamlaVærket ble en hyggelig overraskelse! Utsikten fra fjerde etasje var upåklagelig! Frokosten var rikholdig og god! Gammelt og nydelig interiør i restauranten! Det enese jeg har å sette fingen på er en merkelig beysning! En spotlampe i taket og en nattbordslampe. Dette hadde vært ønskelig med en skrivebordslampe og en lampe i taket!

Yes we had a situation through noregian customers to finish our work earlier like planned, also weather was making a game with ferries, Hotels.com have tried to get a cancellation for us, but director of hotel means no way through done prepayment....we wonder a little bit about this case

You can either choose to order fully refundable, which you have the option to change dates. 2. Order Non refundable which is a bit more reasonable, but cannot be changed after you have ordered.
