“One night stand...”
Spent one Friday night before ferrying over to Tortola for bareboat charter. Hotel was just the thing, pleasant, quiet, beautiful beach and good local-accented buffet. Two minutes from airport and five minutes from ferry dock. Will use it again on future visits.
“Not impressed”
Very convenient because it was right at the end of the runway. No amenities, room was very tired.
“Could be a great resort”
I will start by saying that my wife and I did not have high expectations with our stay here, and basically got what we thought we would get for a Best Western. I would say that if the staff was more ambitious that this could be a great resort. Our room was cleaned only twice during our stay, there was random things just laying around the resort that were never picked up during our stay. One of the chefs was very rude to my wife one day during lunch, and I will say that was the last meal we ate at the resort as a result of his actions, but I will say the food was decent. The beach was very nice, however could be excellent if the upkeep was better.
“Near the airport”
This hotel was just up the road from the airport. The noise did not bother us. It is very convenient to restaurants and shops. The hotel check-in is at 4:00. We arrived at 1:30. They called at 3:30 and said our room was ready. The room was clean, large bathroom, and comfortable. Awesome view! We were not bothered at all by bugs. I had read other reviews about mosquitos being a problem, but not one bit for us. Food in the restaurant was good. The pool area is beautiful and the grounds are well maintained. The hotel was not crowded at all. Plenty of chairs on the beach to use, except for the day the cruise ship was there. The passengers can go to resorts to spend the day ashore, and this resort was full of people on this day. The beach is clean, soft, white sand, and beautiful crystal clear water. St. Thomas (in town) is not beautiful, however. It's adirty place! Trash along the roads and dilapidated buildings everywhere. St. John was better. Take the ferry to visit that island. This hotel was a good choice though! If you visit St. Thomas, I would recommend this resort!

“My Trip to St. Thomas July 2011”
I knew when I booked this hotel that it was not a 5 star resort hotel. So with that being said, take my review into account. At check-in the front desk staff was very nice and helpful. That was a plus. The front desk staff was also very helpful when we needed extra sheets, etc. The room however was small, and older, but it was clean. Clean is always a plus. The room certainly did have some cosmetic problems; the closet door was loose or broke, and the balcony door was misaligned. The hotel room did have a few ants crawling about. But it is set right in the tropical woods, and right on the oceanfront. So we bought some bug spray at the local grocery store, and zapped them dead. That was a drawback?? But the beachfront location is truly amazing. The water is so blue, and so calm, and so crystal clear. Also the beach wasn't very crowded either. That is also a major plus. The hotel does have a restaurant on site. The prices are on the high side, but they are also high at most other restaurants in St. Thomas. The wait staff is pretty good at the restaurant. But if you go at lunch, watch out for the old lady who works during lunch. She isn't that friendly and she makes it seem that by you ordering something, that you are wasting her time. Dont give a tip, unless she earns it. But overall, I can say that the beach is awesome. So if you are used to a 4 or 5 star hotel, then this is probably not for you, unless you can adjust to the problems that I highlighted. Truly.
“Great place to be”
St. Thomas is wonderful! It is not a "party island" but you can find them if you want. Very clean, great warm water. NICE. The Hotel is nice. We stayed on 3rd floor which is the highest level. Had a GREAT view of ocean bay. All rooms face the ocean and have a balcony. NICE. Rooms are nice - loved the electronic, easy to use safe that is free to use. Very nice to have refrigerator which we stocked by purchasing food at local supermarket - Pueblo. Hotel could work on having more beach towels available. Not a big deal though. Thanks for providing us a great vacation spot!
“I will stay again in this hotel”
Its a excelent hotel. The pool, the beach and the room are great. Ist near the airport and there is no noise of airplane. I would definitely stay at this hotel
“Must Be USVI's Best Kept Secret - Truly An Emerald Beach Resort”
The Emerald Beach Best Western Resort truly lives up to it's name! My wife and I stayed here for 8 relaxing and fun-filled days this month. The hotel was in an excellent location and there were always courteous taxi service available at all times. The beach is long and very private with white sand, and the calm relaxing water itself is emerald blue/green and crystal clear. Snorkeling is nice and the pool and Tiki bar is enjoyable and fun! Great food in the restaurant. The rooms had excellent beach-front views and were comfortable and always kept clean with quiet AC and Fridge. You walk out of any of your rooms and there is the white sandy beach! The staff is courteous and everything is within reach for a memorable vacation, honeymoon, or family trip! Best Western Emerald Beach was everything and more!
