“Great welcome to St Petersburg”

A lovely hotel, not too big, friendly staff, extremely comfortable and well equipped. A little tricky to find, being off an internal courtyard, also, being in the consulate district, lots of street closures due to an international meeting on the day I arrived.. Staff very helpful, despite somewhat limited English. Elevator broken, so 3 flights of stairs up, but staff very willing to carry bag. Part of a chain of boutique hotels, so joint resources and information also very helpful. Conveniently located in a most amazingly beautiful city.

“Positives and negatives - amazing location”

Positives: Totally fabulous location (very short walk to Hermitage, boat to Peterhof, Church of Spilled Blood, mere steps to canal tour boats), helpful staff, very good breakfast included (note that you can bring trays down from the small breakfast room upstairs to the nicer front room on the ground floor), rooms with hair dryer, fridge, TV, etc., free internet in room (though it was sporadic at times), attractive public spaces, good value relative to local prices. Note that staff seems unfriendly at first (don't smile or say "good morning"), but this seems cultural, and they are really nice and helpful once you approach them -- particularly helped by a clerk named Anastasia). Negatives: Noisy construction going on directly outside (7 days per week), many stairs up to rooms (elevator out for two months -- even when it works there are still 20 steps up to the elevator level, and another 20 steps to the first floor with rooms on it), no AC (but there are fans in rooms), carpets need replacement. At first they put us in twin room despite our reservation for a double bed -- they changed us to a better room with a double bed --- and moved our luggage for us -- the second day). In general, we thought the positives outweighed the negatives.

“The best place to stay”

This is a really nice place to stay. Rooms are clean and equipped pretty well, like any hotel in US. Staff is very friendly and ready assist you at any time. Breakfast was great. I'm so happy I booked this hotel... everything is in walking distance!

“Would stay there again on our next trip if space is available.”

We were very impressed with the rate we got for this hotel, and were given a higher-quality room than expected, perhaps because of our 7-night stay. The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. Breakfast is provided free daily from 8-11 a.m., and includes a great diversity of items, always including toast with jam, cereal with milk (albeit warm), pasta, sausages and other meats, cheese, yogurt, fresh fruit (usually just one kind, though), pastries, espresso, water, and fruit juices (typically two choices). The location is EXCELLENT, very close to many important sights, and at the same time quiet. The hotel has an intimate feel. Free wi-fi is a great bonus, and it was really very reliable. We were not very impressed with the entry (with trash and lots of ice in the winter), but overall were very impressed with the hotel and all its services. We would definitely stay there again.

“Great location”

Hotel has really great location 5 min walk to Hermitage on a quite street in the center of the city. I could see Savior on the Blood from my room, but the rooms are quite small. I was a bit concerned about this hotel but I was completely satisfied with it. Also note, that hotel has no restaraunt but there is one very close. Actually beautiful city, good hotel with reasonable prices.

“Great location and value”

The best feature of this hotel is its central location in easy walking distance to the major St. Petersburg attractions. The hotel is clean and comfortable, if a bit basic. The provided breakfast was a typical continental breakfast (with the addition of some Russian items). The service at the hotel was exceptional. The manager and the girls at the front desk were all extremely helpful, both to Russian and English speakers in my group. My friend unfortunately had here handbag stolen (NOT at the hotel), and the manager was very considerate of her situation and helped us deal with the police; he even sent champagne and chocolates to her room to lift her spirits after the ordeal.

“Stay there and enjoy the city”

The hotel rooms are small (mine was ~8 sq m) but that was compensated by hotel service and location: 10 min walking to the city center and metro.
