“Nevsky luxury at a slow pace”

I have stayed at the Corinthia Palace on more than one occassion. The concierge staff and upper management are quite professional, but the staff with which guests interact the most are not well trained, quite slow, and highly inefficient. Experiences both at check-in and check-out were miserably slow, and dinner for a medium-size group of colleagues was agonizingly slow and unprofessional (staff seemed to disappear exactly when they were needed). On the other hand, the room service staff, while not very well trained, were very courteous and tried very hard to please the customer - both over the phone and at delivery (even if I offered to open my wine bottle myself - after watching the delivery woman try to pull the cork out through the seal!). The restaurant and food service, selection, and quality could all be improved. However, all said, the recent remodel is well done, and they have entire non-smoking rooms. For Russia, the quality of the hotel - even with staffing issues - is worth recommending.

“Very good!”

Just like all Russians, the people from COrinthia were extremelly nice to us. With a great lobby and very good restaurant, the hotel presents a warm ambience. The only negative point is that rooms feel a little old, and there is a smoke odor accross the whole hotel. But it does not impact in a extremelly bad way.

Getting there
There is a GREAT bullet train from Moscow that arrives at 1km from the hotel

“Excellent experience”

Nice Hotel, awesome location. Cannot do much about the smoke that permeates the Hotel. It is not just the Corinthia, if you are used to a smoke free environment in the US, travelling to Russia can be a bit of a shock. Much more so than Paris, Rome etc. The bar in the lobby is open 24 hours, pretty much and there is always a crowd. Step out of the Hotel and you are within walking distance of most of the major museams (mind you walking distance for me is about 3-4km).

Area recommendations
Peters Palace on the Baltic is a must, as is the Hermitage. The Church of spilt blood ans Peter & Paul's Cathedral as well, in that order. The mosaics in the Church of Spilt Blood, is unique - like nothing else that I have seen in my travels.

“I will gog back to St. Petersburge”

The Hotel Certainly had the Wow Factour when you arive and the staff were very very helpfull. It was nice to see that even with a large corporate event going on as a Private Guest we were looked after very well, and I felt that I was being looked out for as a forign tourest (tips on what to be worried about etc, were tourest things were to see, very touching) Anna at reception never forgot us and dealt with all our request as all the other staff did, The resturant was a welcome refuge St, Petersburge can be very wet! and meals were served prompltly and with discretion We will defernetly go back

Area recommendations
Each site in St. Petersburge needs at least 1 day to visit 4 days was not enough!

“Very impressive....”

Wonderfully modern, sophisticated, cleaned lined ( versus fuzzy, ornate traditional ) with evening piano player in the lobby with excellen, positive advise and directions. On the main, historical avenue, ample shopping and restaurants and coffee options near by... 7 to 8 minute bus ride to Hermitage or St. Isaac's Catheral. A delightful stay.

“Corinthia Nevskij Palace Hotel: Truly A Palace”

The Corinthia Nevskij Palace Hotel is truly one of the best hotel experiences we have had. All the staff--whether reception, bellhops, concierge or dining waiters-- were excellent, helpful and accommodating. The decor of the hotel public spaces as well as the guest rooms has recently been redone and is absolutely stunning! We enjoyed a full breakfast buffet included in the cost of our room--the food was beautifully presented, fresh and delicious. The hotel was also efficient and helpful in procuring our Tourist Voucher/Visa Support Documentation. We are trying to visit St. Petersburg again soon JUST so we can stay at The Corinthia Nevskij Palace Hotel again.

Area recommendations
Nevskij Prospect neighborhood (where the Corinthia Hotel is located) is the main shopping boulevard of St. Petersburg (akin to 5th Avenue in NYC). It is convenient to all the sights if you are truly visiting the city and not simply jumping off and on a Baltic cruise ship.
