“St Vinoy Renaissance Center”

“fantastic...exceeded expectations...exceptional staff...”

Because this was a trip to visit ailing family members, I chose the Vinoy for its location and price. So we were more than pleasantly surprised; the Vinoy staff and accommodations exceeded all of our expectations.. Even though or perhaps because of the remodeling in the lobby the hotel offered a slew of amenities. Muffins and coffee in the am, snacks and punch in the afternoon, and complimentary drinks during happy hour. We used the well-equipped fitness center each morning, especially impressive were the complimentary fitness classes - the pilates instructor was good, and the strength training class (with instructor Dorothea) - was one of the best I have participated in. We ate lunch at two of the hotels restaurants - although we only ordered the salads - even the salads exceeded expectations - for example, the filet for the salad was cooked - just as ordered (this is rare indeed- pun intended). I would definitely return and have already recommended it to friends.

“Overall, very impressed...”

This is a very classy hotel and I enjoyed myself thoroughly. The room was perfect and the location was great. I did sense a bit of attitude from the clerk when she checked me in and saw that I had booked the hotel through Expedia. I guess I was not the "normal" clientele they got at the hotel! Attitude aside, this is a great place and anyone would enjoy it very much.

Area recommendations

I enjoy the downtown area because of the proximity to the water and various attractions. However, I'm sure the beach areas are great too.

“Short Stay”

The Downtown area is the best place to stay. It is close proximity to lots of attractions and shopping.

“Splendid retreat”

Love the old hotel and the attention the staff pays to guests and grounds. Great pool. Only complaint: sheets and mattress pad kept coming off the mattress. Need to perfect the heavenly bed concept.

“St. Petersburg gem”

Absolutely loved this hotel. It's location was gorgeous; the staff were impeccable, and the room, lovely. Decided very last minute to stay here during spring training for the Philadelphia Phillies, and was pleasantly surprised! First time to St. Petersburg and can't wait to return. We are a family of five so a hotel needs to accommodate a variety of ages and needs. This was was "out of the park"!

“Great Hotel, good vacation experience”

The hotel was good, nice and clean, excellent service, great restaurant, close to all attractions, very convenient. I greatly recommend it. The hotel architectural details are amazing. Very different from your regular cookie cutter style hotel.
