“Tradewinds Island Grand is Grande !!!! Loved it.”
Very Friendly and professional. Clean, Great Views & location. Plenty of activities on premises.
“great place to stay on St. Pete's beach”
Trade Winds Grand is a very good place to stay. It is clean, and the staff are kind and helpful. It is not fancy, but it is great for a beach type stay. The hotel is right on the Gulf of Mexico, and is beautiful with pristine white beaches. This place is great if you have elementary aged children. There are lots of activities and a kids club as well. The trade winds is also just a few blocks from the publix grocery store, and our room had a full kitchen, This is great if you'd like to make your own meals. So overall I would give this hotel a 4 out of 5. It is really a nice place and a nice place to relax!
“"stolen jewerly"”
I wish I could wipe away the memory of my stolen earrings. We changed rooms I noticed they were left in the other room. We spoke to house keeping and and the front desk and security and nothing was found. I truly believe that the house keeping took them. Throws a dark cloud on a Sunny Vacation. Would have liked an adult hot tub by the adult pool. I love kids but I left them at home to vacation.
“Too loud”
Although the Tradewind is marketed as a family friendly hotel, our stay over Veteran's Day was not the best for families. There was a dance competition which went late into the night and the music could be heard throughout the resort. This made it difficult for the kids to sleep. There was a convention there also and the nighttime reception was loud. The following morning when the tables and chairs were taken out of the courtyard, it was noisy and extremely early to be doind that kind of work. For our family, a vacation is a time to catch up on sleep and relax and that didn't happen this time. We were going to stay there in Feb., but we are looking for a different place now.
“just fine, but a little dated”
I'm not a fan of Florida, so maybe I am slanted against everything, but I wasn't super impressed with the hotel. I did really appreciate the staff's help in getting us a room that worked well for traveling with our 9 month old. I overheard another guest saying as we left the hotel, "This place is so homey." I really do agree with this. Nothing impressive, but comfortable. This could be a great hotel--just all depends on what you are looking for.
“Good area, great beach!”
We stayed for 4 nights and while the November weather was a little on the cool side, we loved the view of the gulf from our balcony & room, and enjoyed the well manicured beach. Brides braved the cool air as this is a popular place for weddings. Several conventions going on at the convention center. Good parking with no extra charge.
“You fancy... huh?”
:) Theres paddleboats, swans and beach cabana's. Next to the beach hotel has pizza hut, room service and tropical drinks on deck. Exceptional service and cloth towels everywhere. One word... BALLIN
“Nice Hotel”
Overall, it was really nice. People outside always cleaning which was good. We went at a time construction was going on so alot of hammering during the day. Bathroom could have been scrubbed down alittle better before we checked in, some stains or spills were missed. But it was a nice hotel, comfortable beds.
“Great family experience!”
My kids didn't want to leave! Very nice resort. Enjoyed the ocean, the pool, minigolfing, paddle boats and bungy jumping. Busy, not quiet but lots of fun. beach is beautiful. Kids really want to go back.
“Would love to go back again!”
The staff at the island grand were all extremely helpful and pleasant. We were there during the week, off season so nothing was crowded at all. The amenities provided with the resort fee are well worth the cost. The only real downfall was that our room was tucked away near the housekeeping room which got a little noisey sometimes. But overall it was a great stay at a good process, would definitely go back.
