“Nice Area- Hotel Needs Some Work”

The Safety Harbor area is very nice and gives easy access to Tampa as well as Clearwater. The hotel is undgoing some improvements so make sure to stay in the newer rooms. The older room we got had mold in the shower and was out dated. The beds thankfully were comfortable and clean. The hotel restaurant staff were not very friendly.

“Okay hotel. Overpriced.”

Surprised at check out when charged an additional $16.95 per day for "resort amenities". We did not even have time during our stay to use the "resort amenities" and felt this was not a fair addition to bill. We paid in advance prior to arrival and was surprised regarding this additional fee. Not a pleasant surprise either!

Area recommendations
Athens Restuarant on Main Street. Within comfortable walking distance. Open for breakfast and lunch daily. Great food at very affordable pricing. Judy and Sam are fantastic waitresses and are very welcoming.

“The best place for tranquility, relaxation and comfort.”

The room we stayed was tremendously spacious. I have not seen many hotels with rooms so big. The bathroom has two different sections for privacy and the beds are the most comfortable I have slept on in a while. The attentions from the staff was superb. I recommend this hotel with 100% satisfaction in comfort.

The whole area surrounding the Hotel is of historic value and the restaurants offer great variety of food.
When to go
The best time to go (as per my experience) is mid September through December mainly due to the great weather.

“Perfect exercise escape”

We love to go here and enjoy the classes and the spa facilities. This is not the resort if you are snooty. But if you like exercise classes and relaxation for reasonable go here. The town is great and the people are nice. My husband and I go for the weekend workout drink and relax.

“Quaint hotel and town.”

Older hotel but very quaint. Rooms were very large. Included use of gym/spa--take advantage great exercise classes.

“Historic”

Dont use Valat , They have a crappy parking lot and pulled my cute little convertable up between bushes to make room for other cars scratching the crap out of my mirrors and dont tell me it was already their I know every mark on that car! Park your car yourself.

“Safety Harbour's best Resort, Cant wait to go back., Absolutely Loved it.”

The Best Resort , people were very friendly, felt like home. So much to do there at the resort. The food at the fountain grill was scrumptous and for a great price. I will definetly recommend this resort to my friends and family. Awesome. Totally missing the place.

“Not good enough”

My experience with hotel was bad!! The room was not well cleaned. They take fees for extremely poor parking. They take fees for everything even for the refrigerator !!! I can NOT repeat this experience!!

“great resort in a great location”

Really enjoyed our stay.. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable... big deal for me as I have had shoulder surgery a year ago... People were helpful, atmosphere was nice.. close to lots of areas.... Nice pool, busy on the weekend but during the week it was amazing. only 15-20 minutes from clearwater beach... but much nicer to come home too... hotel service was really good,,, they were great... needed a cork screw for a bottle of wine and were there in minutes and helped us out... when checking in they acknowledged we called and didnt get in the first night due to flight delays... really nice... which at the time was great... I would recommend.. and do some sight seeing from this location ...
