“Great central location”

The hotel was very easy to get to and a great central location to Tampa and beach attractions. The room was roomy and the sink, refrigerator and microwave was a great amenity. A large desk/table area allowed us to eat in the room. Pool towels were provided. A very comfortable stay.

i recently stayed at howard johnson and it was a very pleasant surprise. the room was comfortable, clean, and very big for one person. the staff was pleasant and very helpful. a continental breakfast was good and if you ask for more of something that was gone they would quickly accomodate you.

“Convenient and budget friendly”

I was suprisingly more than pleased with the quality of this hotel and services for the price point. The room was large and well appointed with desk area, micowave and fridge. Very well maintained in the room as well as hotel grounds and facilities. I will certainly choose this hotel again when in the area.

“Very Impressed”

My husband and I planned a weekend getaway to clearwater and decided on this hotel to stay in and I am extremely glad we did. The hotel is only about 15 minutes to both beaches and a mile away from lots of restaraunts and a mall. On top of its great location we were extremely impressed with the room and pool area. At first glance we were a little worried because the hotel looked a little rundown, but as soon as we walked in the room all worries were vanished. The rooms were extremely spacious and very clean. The pool area was very nice too and the hot tub was great.

“Surprisingly Satisfied”

We were told by everyone not to go to the Howard Johnson's, but we did anyway, and we were very pleased. In fact, I recommended my parents to stay there when they came to the area. The room was clean, the staff was friendly, and I felt safe being there. The only drawback is that it sits on a busy highway (US 19) and there is a lot of construction going on there. Also, you have at least a 20 minute drive to any of the gulf beaches. But there are restaurants, a mall, mini golf, and shopping close by (although there is nothing within walking distance). It is a great place to stay if you want to save some money and don't mind the drive to do your sightseeing. Also, they let you have pets!

“Great HOJO”

The staff and service were excellent. The lady who checked us in even made a note that we were not be be bothered unless we asked. We like down time when we go away, so I make the bed etc and all we had to do was ring and ask if we wanted clean towels etc.. What an excellent service The one and ONLY downside is that they no longer have the IN ROOM safe as mentioned on the information on this website, BUT they did redeem themselves as they have small safety deposit boxes in the main office that you can use, but beware as they do not take a laptop or SLR type camera or bulky items.. If it was not for this this would easily be a 100% perfect stay.... As this was the only downside I would easily tell family & friends to stay here. Easy to get on the US19...drive out the car park and straight onto it. Even though this is close to the roadway, the noise is not an issue.
