“beautiful beach and landscape”
The hotel was clean but the so called "full size beds" were extremely small. The pool was very clean and the surrounding beach and landscape in the hotel were beautiful.
“Mislead”
NOT A RESORT BY ANY STRETCH. The reviews and price were very misleading. Based on the pictures and the reviews I was expecting so much more that I actually got. When we got here the first impression was that they were in the middle of renovating. That is exactly what’s happening and they need it badly. The hotel smells strongly of mildew and pine cleaner. The room itself is super small and equally smelly. The beds are hard/small and they charge $20 extra per night per vehicle if you have more than one car. The only good thing is the proximity to the Gulf of Mexico. All the hotels around this one are much nicer. Stay anywhere else. For the money this should be a much nicer hotel.
“Great location but dirty hotel”
Stayed at the Dolphin for 5 days- Originally paid for one of the cheaper rooms -Blvd room-but did not expect it to be that bad but it was (one of those smells that you can't quite pinpoint what it is). "BLVD" is parking lot view. Went to the front desk after day 2 to let them know I had to get another room because my room smelled. Was offered 3 rooms to look at. I ended up upgrading and paying more for a room with a balcony and view of ocean and pool. They did not offer at no charge either for the inconvenience by the way. Anyway I would like to suggest the management take out all carpet in the rooms and tile it- , fix the shower drains in the rooms and get some additional outside lighting if you tell your guests that it's a State law that due to lack of lighting and no lifeguard, you're not allowed to swim at night. Why not pay for some additional lighting??? People want to spend the day at the beach- not the pool. They want to come to the pool at night! (The hotel did not have a lifeguard during the day...) Alot of people wanted to swim at night but as soon as Sunset hit, everyone was booted out of the pool by an old security guy. One last thing, post a sign by the pool for babies to wear diaper swimmies- there's not one posted and there's a line of green algae surrounding the pool. That was kind of nasty to have to see. The hotel is in a great location- right on beach and Publix is right across the street. That's the only thing saving it in my opinion.
“Great Hotel”
I know a lot of people have said they don't really like this hotel all that much, but I really liked it. I'll be honest, the hotel isnt the prettiest one on the beach, but the setup is aesthetically pleasing and the rooms are clear, functional, and very comfortable. Combine this withe the fact that this hotel is within walking distance of many excellent restaurants and is on the beach, and I think this hotel is a great deal. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone.
“can't wait to go back”
I highly recommend booking this hotel because not only is their lounge and poolside phenomenally breathtaking, the beach is literally behind it! :D
“Impressive for the price”
Besides it being smaller and less modern than a lot of the surrounding hotels, everything here was clean, the staff was very friendly and helpful, the pool is nice, and it is easy to walk out of the back and into the gulf. The outside bar is also nice and reasonable price wise. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay at St. Pete Beach but not wanting to spend an arm and a leg to do so. Perfect for the type of people who simply need a place to sleep, as there is plenty to do in the area.
“Its not bad...very nice beach...but, bring ur own sheets.”
Dolphin beach is very conveniently.located, has a nice indoor and outdoor bar with food. The room was not bad. The tv was not very clear. The sheets were horrible. Like sleeping between sandpaper. Must be 50 count sheets. The beach was beautiful. All in all, its a decent value..just bring ur own sheets if u want a good nights sleep.:) Also..a short walk down the beach will get u to Crabby Bills for a great seafood dinner.
“Excellent location for a sea side hotel”
Loved the location and room accomodations. Price paid was very acceptabe. Hotel had free poarking and free WiFi service. Onother nearby hotel was charging $$ per day for WiFi connection.
“Would go back but not during prom season!”
Great location right on the beach. But we got a room next To the ball with a loud wedding party. That was not so bad as the prom kids partying on the floor above us at 12:30am. The front desk lady handled it great!!! The pool bar prices are way to high but over all it was a great weekend!!!
“Lucky”
I reserved a room for my fiancée and I the same day as our 2-night stay. There was a minor problem that we got really lucky with, we are both 20 and had read on Expedia that the check-in age was 18 so we figured all would be well. Once we got there we where told that we would have to deposit $500 for underage check-in. It turns out the actual check-in age is 21 and Expedia had listed it incorrectly (as it turns out all the hotels on St. Pete beach require you to be 21,) however as I stated above we got very lucky and I am extremely happy with the customer service. We where allowed to stay as an exception due to the Expedia error and we did NOT have to deposit $500 which is great because I couldn't have deposited it if I wanted to. The room was extremely clean, the mini kitchen was well placed in the room and organized amazingly. Only about 100ft from the beach and the pool was almost always empty.
