This was the best hotel experience i've ever had. The staff greeted us like we were long lost family, and were the friendliest nicest hotel staff i've ever dealt with in any country. No item big or small was too much trouble or effort. We were personally & warmly greeted by the beautiful hotel manager, and were personally guided to our rooms while the porter delivered our bags. The hotel kindly ran a shuttle to the train station when we needed it, so we did not have to trek through the snow with our bags. This was especially appreciated as we were dudded by a cab driver in another ski town Zermatt the next day.
We had a very tired room, our friends a freshly renovated one with a marvellous shower, ours one could barely fit into. Good location for ski lift. The breakfast was adequate, but, hot food only just warm, breakfast staff on our visit not very pleasant, reception staff very helpful.
Generally the hotel was a little souless, not much atmosphere.

Good location to lake and walking distance to shops and train station. When we arrived the wrong room had been booked but this was promptly rectified and we were even upgraded. Excellent staff, helpful and friendly.
After a long day of travelling it was nice to order a pizza from downstairs to take to our our room.

The premises are old and run down. The rooms are in a similar condition. Bathrooms in particualt in need of some money being spent. Old stale smoke smell throughout. Not a place I would recommend. The manager was very helpful. Our first room offering was a shocker , my wife outrightly refusing to stay there. The manager kindly offered us two room choices the third a lot better than the first two but still not value for money.
First, they say they are in St. Moritz and it`s no true they are in Champfer village. St. Moritz bad is like 45 mn walk through the snow and St. Moritz Dorf is about an hour. There is no place to eat walking distance near the hotel. The room was the worst, although the bathroom and room was huge, the balcony hasn`t been clean in days so the snow was all over and you can`t use it. I don`t have words to describe the "queen bed", It was to twin beds that they try to put together with a gap about 3 inches between them, and the head of the beds are inside a wood something attached to the wall that you don`t know what`s happening in there. When you shower all the bathroom get wet because it has a fixed glass door that do not cover enough.
