This small hotel is a gem! We spent 10 days at The Marquis in a large well appointed room with a spectacular view of the bay at Ance Marcel from our terrace. The staff was unfailingly professional and friendly. The service was first rate. If you are looking for a first rate hotel that is a bit off the beaten track, this is the place for you.
We were greet, registered and personally escorted to our room which was cute, quaint and spotlessly clean. Slightly out-dated decor but the personalized attention you will receive from the staff and the gorgeous beach cause any tiny imperfections to pale in comparison. A lovely restaurant and fun bar are on the premises as well.

We had a wonderful stay at GCBC--the rooms were wonderful, up-to-date and well kept, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the close proximity of a full service restaurant with great food was really appreciated. We walked into the town of Grand Case several nights for dinner, too, and enjoyed the local and French cuisine available there. I cannot think of single thing I would suggest for an improvement--a truly delightful, restful vacation spot!

"We have already booked our next stay at Palm Court"
We have stayed at Palm Court in the past and loved it then and we still do. The rooms are big and the King size beds are huge, I'm not sure of the measurements but they are larger than our California King we have at home. The rooms are clean and the hotel grounds and landscaping are beautiful and very well cared for. The bath room is a good size with an open shower. The pool is warm and very clean. Due to the fact that everything was to our liking, we did not need to see the staff a lot but when we did it was a very pleasant experience. Ann at the reception desk did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. The breakfast staff does an excellent job from the great coffee to my wife's favorite, the chocolate pastries.

Overall this was a very satisfying stay. The staff was friendly and the facilities were great. One or two small service glitches (50 minutes to wait for ice) didn't detract from a very nice experience. Our junior suite was virtually on the beach and was perfect for us. Room was large, spacious, bright and clean. The little kitchenette was a great part of the room and allowed us to have breakfast, snacks, drinks etc. in our room or the very nice patio.
You feal you landed in France the minute you get there. The beach is great. The pool at the villas are fun after a day at the beach. The staff are all very nice.
The hotel is one end of the beach , so it is quieter and the people from the cruise ships land at another part of the beach.
Other secluded beaches are nearby. Pimel island is a lot of fun.
The Coco beach restaurant needs improvements. We tried other restaurant on Orient beach which were better, one called Bikini.
My husband and I just returned from a four-night stay at Azure in SXM. This property is absolutely beautiful. You walk out of your room and within 10 steps your feet are on the sand. The view of the Caribbean is stunning - gorgeous turquoise water, sailboats in the distance, absolute peace! The room itself was perfect...comfy king-sized bed, mini fridge, microwave, dining table and chairs, A/C, satellite tv (which we watched very little as the view was tv enough!). The courtyard area was lovely - flowering trees and plants and really cool turtles. The owner (Mike) was very knowledgeable about the island and gave us a list of things to do and places to eat. Very helpful! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Azure and are planning a return trip soon. HIGHLY recommended!
"Honeymoon in St. Maarten (August 25-September 1)"
Our stay at Sonesta Great Bay was incredible! It was the off season, so we practically had the entire resort to ourselves (with some other very fun and friendly guests!) We chose Sonesta Great Bay over the sister resort in Maho Beach, because of the beach and it's proximity to Phillipsburg, the capital. The hotel was within walking distance to Phillipsburg and it made for some quick, scenic (and very hot) walks to town whenever we liked. The pools were great, especially the infinity pool which looked out over the bay. Free lounge chairs, a swim up bar, towel service, what more could you ask for? We upgraded to an ocean view room, as the island view rooms are right next to a busy road and don't seem to have much of a view. Definitely recommend staying ocean view:) The great bay hotel seems to be a bit older and outdated than the Maho Beach but our room was very clean and the shower had GREAT water pressure. The food was incredible and despite the low attendance of guests, the staff still offered activities such as outdoor movies, live music, drinking games, and bingo. When staying at either Sonesta resorts, you can visit and use the amenities at both. Maho Beach is more upbeat, kid friendly, with a lot of night life and Great Bay is more low key, relaxing, and romantic. I highly recommend choosing Sonesta Great Bay
