“Enjoyable stay at Smugglers Cove”
My Colleagues, family and myself were very pleasantly surprised at the overall quality of the resort. I read some very poor reports on the quality of the resort just before arriving on our holiday. The staff were very supportive and made every effort to make our stay enjoyable. There was never any shortage of food at the restaurants I used as reported in some reviews, in fact I had to actively restrain myself lest I put on too much weight during my stay. The resort was very child-friendly as my son was very happy at the kiddies Club. Overall, I would have no hesitation in recommending this resort to friends and I look forward to returning to the resort in the future. I must pass on the thanks from my colleagues and family for the great treatment by the staff of Smugglers Cove. PS: We all fell in love with St. Lucia - it was our first visit to this country.
“Very nice hotel, wonderful service from personnel”
My advice to travellers is that this hotel is a fabulous place to stay and enjoy all the activities of the all inclusive package. If you have to tour the island be sure to book at least 7 days minimum to actually enjoy the hotel's wonders. Horrible beach to snorkel though.
“Pleasantly surprised!”
Our stay Smugglers could not have been better. The service, the food, the room, it was all wonderful and better than expected. I would highly recommend this hotel and look forward to staying there again.
“Can't wait to go back”
Very enjoyable.
“Brilliant”
We had a great time here - very friendly, clean, excellent facilities. Try for a room closer to the pools etc. Also, a big plus for me was the lack of mosquitos and insects in general - i think they encourage a lot of birds to do their job!! As soon as the sun goes down, the birds start singing - A lot!! but i enjoyed that....
“Security is SUPER sketchy”
Layout is great, lots of activities, generally pleasant staff, but make sure that ANY and ALL valuables are locked in your safe, including phones, necklaces. Tucking some cash in a deep pocket of a suitcase doesn't count here.
“Chill out paradise”
On entering the gate at the hotel we went through beautiful grounds to reception where we were met with a local drink and friendly staff. Then taken to our accommodation. The main room was basic but very clean -all you need on holidays. The bathroom was very clean but dated. This was the only grumble about the whole holiday. Overall the hotel buildings and the pool areas were very clean. Staff couldn't do enough for you - which makes you feel like you are their only guest. Friendly staff, clean hotel, paradise island - brilliant.
“Did not meet expectations”
This was our 5th Caribbean vacation and the room we stayed at in Smugglers Cove was our least favorite. The island is absolutely beautiful, and the hotel grounds are very nice as well (pool areas/beach), but we were not as happy with our room than we had expected. Many of the lights in our room were not working (bedside lamp and 3 out of 4 in bathroom as well). The bathtub did not drain well and the knobs were eroded on the bathroom sink. There seemed to be holes in the wall that were not repaired or compounded well and it gave a messy appearance. There was also an outlet that didn't work and we needed maintenance to come because we originally couldn't use a hair dryer from that outlet. There was light that came through the cracks in the door to the room and the lock on the door seemed as if it could be opened simply by passing a credit card through the side. No peep holes or chain locks, simply a push button lock on our door, which lead straight to a pathway outside. The room in general was much smaller than we had anticipated, especially for the price. It is an all inclusive hotel but no drinks were stocked in our room fridge. Very small patio outside, and considered a "garden view" room but it faced other hotel rooms with barely a bush or flowered plant in between; not much privacy. Our room was even an upgraded room, but it felt quite mediocre.
“not luxury but not a dump”
I'll start by saying we had a nice time and enjoyed our stay at smugglers cove. The food was fine. Buffet was alright, the restaurants were great. The rooms were acceptable. It is not a luxury resort. If you want that luxury feeling, don't stary here. If you want a nice resort that will meet your needs at a good price. We were happy with our time at smugglers cove because our expectations was 3.5 stars, not 5 stars.
“Wonderful Experience!”
Smuggler's Cove is a great all-inclusive and very family friendly, we brought our 2 children (ages 10 & 7) & they had so much fun! Our room was in nice condition, close to the pools/beach/restaurants & very clean. We did upgrade our room, and think that it was worth the extra money. However, we only used the space to sleep. . .there is so much to do on the island and at the resort! Highly recommend seeing the island, it's breathtaking & there are many excursions available. Don't leave until you have seen the Pitons! We chartered a catamaran and explored the southern parts of the island. The rainforest is worth seeing, a fun 1/2 day trip. The resort water sports are great! We sea kayaked (even our 7 year old did well with this) and just a little way out there is a great view of Pigeon Island and lots of rocky coves to explore. The Waterside restaurant is hands-down the best (plus they had a fun kids menu) and we were able to watch the sea turtles just off-shore during dinner. Chrissy was fabulous and the Creole-style fresh seafood was wonderful & recommend the BBC's! There were some things in progress (repairs to the grounds, landscaping, etc.) but it's a big area in a humid, tropical climate and it's expected to see ongoing work. We saw some mixed reviews here prior to booking - but I can't imagine not having a good time at Smuggler's Cove or on the beautiful island of St. Lucia. It was an amazing week & we will definitely plan to return some day!
