Property Amenities
Rooms
The resort offers 49 individually designed rooms situated near the beach and on a hillside rising steeply from the beach. Room sizes vary but range from extra-large to immense. About 100 stone steps lead from the main building down to the beach, but a complimentary shuttle is available by request.
Twelve rooms are located on beach level in three two-story buildings constructed of whitewashed concrete and weathered wood. Tall trees in the rear and dense gardens in the front nearly conceal them. One building abuts the beach. The other two lie along a concrete path 45.75m and 91.5m (50 and 100 yds) from the beach.
Scattered on the hillside above the beach, 37 other rooms are perched amid the forest in concrete/stone buildings with wood shingles. These rooms offer panoramic Caribbean Sea views. Some also provide views of the Pitons, St. Lucia's signature twin spires rising 2,461 and 2,619 feet from the shore 3.5 and 5 miles south of the resort.
Rooms contain no air conditioning. Ceiling fans and louvered doors and windows provide cooling. Some hillside rooms have open fronts. No televisions, radios, clocks, or telephones disturb guests. (Telephone calls can be made from the main building.)
Rooms feature terra-cotta tile or hardwood floors; furniture constructed locally of island woods such as mahogany, teak, breadfruit, greenheart, and purpleheart; and cushioned seating covered in plaid West Indian madras cloth. Original artworks, many created by internationally known artists who stay at the resort, and locally made woven-straw area rugs, pottery, and carved-wood decorations, contribute color and visual interest. Yellow light bulbs hang from ceilings under woven-wicker shades, suffusing rooms with soft light.

“Nice, but ...”
Not much of amenities, but service is pretty good. Nice view of ocean (have to go down 120 major steps each time), restaurants are descent (over price), spa is worthless (don't even try it), beach is nice. Recommended if you want to be in a single resort and not go anywhere else. That's pretty much the island with spreaded resorts. If you are looking to relax, enjoy beach, and stay in the resort with no TV, limited wifi (only in bar area for most part), this is not a bad place. You will like it. They try hard to please you, they are just not that great at it yet.
“Uniquely Beautiful with a Friendly Atmosphere”
Anse Chastanet is a wonderful hotel with a top notch atmosphere. Admittedly, the accommodations are a touch dated, and lack the luxe high-end resort feel, but the rooms are comfortable, tasteful, and give stunning views. The forest boasts diverse tropical plant life which is truly unrivaled, and the ocean view is crisp and beautiful. If you want to take it up a notch, (and can pay the premium rate) try the Hotel's upper scale Jade Mountain. The hotel is situated at the edge of a fertile rain forest overlooking a beautiful beach with stunning views. The hotel property also contains a historical plantation, a top notch dive site, and provides for numerous complimentary or exclusive activities and amenities, including beach huts, yoga and fitness activities, snorkeling, kayaks, biking trails, boat rides, waterfall hikes, as well as a spa. The hotel is also located close by the Pitons and the Volcano and are easily accessible. What can one say about the staff? Extremely polite, helpful and especially friendly (genuinely). It truly enhances the experience. They will do what ever they can to be accommodating. On the negative side, you will notice some costs you may not have been prepared for: shuttle to and fro the resort from the airport runs ~$65-75 each way, restaurant is a tad pricey, with no other options due to the remote location. Also, the hotel is located on a very vertical stretch - be prepared for steps, lots of them. It does not detract from the experience though.
“Very relaxing”
Great relaxing resort. Ample cabanas and excellent food. Downfall is the numerous steps beween breakfast and beach!
“Great for relaxation and getting away”
We loved this resort! The hotel service was great and were so friendly. It was private and away from all other resorts and local towns, but not too far to be able to enjoy other sites and activities. Perfect!
“40th Anniversary Celebration”
Overall the resort was great. The resort offers majestic views of the Pitons & the sea. The location was a bit remote but well worth the character of the resort. The staff was attentative & friendly. The ammenities were an added feature. We were there to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. Champagne was waiting in our fridge. Our stay was certainly a memorable one. Driving is not for the faint of heart!!! Truly an adventure.
“True paradise”
I can't say enough good things about this resort. I enjoy being "off the beaten path", and this hotel fulfilled that while remaining luxurious. The views and the food were unbelievable!!!!! We had a fantastic experience.
“Amazing”
This place is absolutely beautiful and enriched with culture, history, and art. The service was the best I have ever experienced. The staff was friendly, professional, and very accommodating. The food at the resort was fabulously prepared by terrific chefs. The price of food is expensive, so the meal plan would be a better choice. I recommend the Gourmet Meal on Mondays and the guided Plantation Hike was lots of fun and very informative. Beautiful healthy reef systems made the dives and snorkeling remarkable. Diving with the dive group at the resort was terrific. The dive group was professional and safety concsious. They provided beachfront lockers for storing our gear. It made it convenient to leave our gear. Security is really good too. I would recommend this resort to anyone that can appreciate peace and tranquility and doesn't mind walking up steps.
“Truly paradise i say”
The hotel, part of the resort, was beautiful and had breathtaking views to the jungle and natural volcanic sand beach. It is and was designed to be open air (probably because it's been around since the 70's). I did not have a problem with that as I don't really like the AC on when I'm sleeping. The rest of the day was spent at the beach where there wasn't any AC either ;-) It's a beautiful high quality resort/hotel. Worth visiting at least once in your lifetime I think. St. Lucia is beautiful and this hotel is one of the best, if not the best in the area (very small country).
“Anniversary in paradise”
Anse Chastanet is a beautiful and relaxing place to vacation. The service is impeccable, the beach and snorkeling is superb, the executive chef is extremely accomodating, and there is enough to do (mountain biking in the rainforest, water taxi to Soufreirre, etc) when you don't want to simply relax on the beach. I highly recommend the deluxe beachside rooms. Excellent establishment - cannot wait to go back!
“Best choice in St. Lucia”
We did not know what to expect and were pleasantly surprised. The resort takes care of all your needs. Staff is extremely friendly and solicitous. Restaurants are of good quality (highly recommend the gourmet dinner on Mondays). We traveled to the rest of the island and saw the other resort opportunities. Anse Chastenet is clearly the best choice if you want to be away from the tourist centers but still enjoy the best of resort vacation.
