“outstanding”

The hotel was very nice, it looked like it had been redone recently. The staff was very friendly and helpfull. Lots of extras like a popcorn machine in lobby, fresh fruit, cookies and hot coffee and tea. Free newspapers and a hot buffet breakfast each morning. A security guard walked thru the building passing each floor. Book it when you want to be downtown in St Louis.

“Great Location next to Metro”

Nice location next to Metro so you can travel the entire city. Very nice staff. Above average three star hotel. All the right conveniences. Great value for price.

“OK - very convenient”

Evening check-in staff not very helpful as to parking, baggage help, etc. Evening concierge directed us to a so-called "kid friendly" restaurant which was not! Morning front desk staff was great! Breakfast very good, but ran out of a lot of things 1/2 hour before ending time. Seating area very nice. However, hotel was centrally located for the area, very nice room and comfortable. No information in room, though, as to attractions, restaurants, etc. So...would I go back - yes!

Area recommendations

The Central West End in St. Louis is charming. Good, interesting restaurants and shops all within walking distance of the Parkway Hotel. Many restaurants have outdoor seating. It is also very convenient to many St. Louis attractions. I would recommend the City Museum and Magic House for children, zoo, too!

“Perfect location”

Very convenient to Washington University Med School, easy access to the MetroRail to and from airport, nice full breakfast included, nice gym on the top floor.

“Wonderful stay”

Very helpful and accommodating staff. AC was broke in first room and they moved us to another one on the same floor. In the morning, we came down at 9:15 for breakfast, which ended at 9:30, and asked more biscuits and eggs be cooked, which they were happy to do. Close to the CWE MetroLink stop and within walking distance of many restaurants. Would stay here again.

“Will not go back”

The outside temps were 100+ and our A/C was not working. We were staying one night so it could be fixed before leaving the next morning. The room temp was VERY uncomfortable for the night. The shower had no lip at the bottom to contain water. It is built like a roll in shower for handicap people. The bathroom floor got very wet when taking a shower. I had to use most of the towels to clean up the mess. Housekeeping said most of the showers in the hotel are like that. This type of setup is NOT for me.

“Very Nice!”

Hotel was very clean, staff was friendly, and comfortable overall. The evening cookies and popcorn and the morning breakfast buffet was also a very nice touch. The convenience to restaurants (Applebee's in lobby) and a very convenient walkway to the Surgery Center and Barnes Jewish Hospital was the best! Parking very reasonable as well. Will stay again!

Area recommendations

Forest Park is a great area. The Zoo and Botanical Gardens are amazing! Central West End is fun and has great shops and restaurants. We love catching a concert or broadway production at the Fabulous Fox on Grand Ave. Catching a Cardinals game downtown is a must as well.

“Great hotel and location. Not so great views.”

I really enjoyed my stay at the Parkway Hotel. The room was very comfortable with attention to details that are overlooked at other hotels: walk in closet with closing door, and very clean-smelling and crisp sheets. Nice chairs and TV. The only draw backs: I had a room with a view directly into a parking garage. It was very ugly, but I was willing to accept it since I liked the room and location. The breakfast that is included is only OK...nothing special. BUT there are delicious and inexpensive breakfast options available across the street, or one block down Euclid Avenue. I do recommend this hotel strongly due to location a short walk to MetroLink Train (which is AMAZINGLY convenient), and great Central West End location, plus it is very clean and safe.

Area recommendations

Downtown or Central West End. Downtown = big city amenities and excitement, proximity to gorgeous river, arch, and architecture. Central West End = interesting local charms and secrets you would otherwise miss, great local restaurants instead of big chains.

“Enjoyed our stay”

We really liked the Metro close by for trips to the Arch area and Busch Stadium. Also the hotel has a shuttle that will take you to nearby areas like Science Center and the Zoo. This saved us the hassle of driving and quite a bit on parking fees. I didn't really care for the breakfast. They should work to improve this. I would have appreciated waffles or bagels and more fruit. My family did love the chocolate chip cookies in the evenings and did enjoy the fresh fruit offered throughout the day. The beds were comfortable and the room was big enough with a fridge, microwave, and free snacks upon arrival.

Area recommendations

Nice area just near the hotel for restaurants. Otherwise we enjoyed the Arch area and Lacledes Landing for nice outdoor dining in the evenings.
