“Days Inn St. Louis Downtown”

Will not go back, and cannot recommend. The hotel staff was friendly and competent, but the facility is sub-par even for a Days Inn. This hotel is NOT downtown. It is in an industrial area, within a fenced property for security, which indicates some concerns by management about the area. I have some form of bites and a rash around my ankles after staying in the room overnight. As a friend of mine once said about similar situations... it is not too bad if you leave your shoes on....

“not quite downtown”

Hotel is a decent midrange hotel, hard-working staff. Hotel is near I-70 access but a mile or two from downtown in a gritty industrial area. So if you are prepared for this and ready to drive your car again to go places it is closer to downtown than the many airport area hotels. But if you think you can take a cab there and walk to eateries, you will be very disappointed.

“Too Far Away”

I was in St. Louis for the Gateway Classic and the convenience of the hotel was not very good. It was too far and not easy to find. The cab drivers had a hard time finding it. Only reason why I chose it was because it was one of the cheapest rates I could find at the last minute.

“Fair”

Accomodating. Pleasant Staff. Had to change our comfortor...there were at least 10 cigarette burn marks on it in our non-smoking room. The room was fairly clean. The elevator was broken. It was close to the cardinals stadium but in a kinda scary part of town. It's close to downtown, but not so close that you could really walk anywhere. Plus the surrounding area isn't exactly the kind of neighborhood you want to stroll through. The decor inside the hotel was nice and it looked new. The chair in our room looked nasty enough that I wouldn't sit in it. All in all, we would stay there again for another game simply for the location and price.

“Nice hotel close to downtown!”

Although the neighborhood is somewhat sketchy, this hotel is located close to downtown and is a very nice place to stay. The desk clerk was very friendly and easy to work with.

“In a run-down neighbourhood with no lighting”

It may be the start of regenerating a derelict part of town but at the moment this Days Inn is located on the wrong side of the Interstate in an unlit and many undeveleped, run-down area. No restaurants or retail within walking distance. Oh, and we were allocated a smoking room too against our preference.

“Nicely maintained close to downtown”

The hotel was very nice and clean. The neighborhood was a bit run down, but saw nothing worrisome. The hotel staff was great! Would stay again.

“Solid”

Don't be misled by negative reviews of this hotel with unrealistic expectations. This hotel is vtery short drive from downtown St. Louis and although at first the neighborhood appears almost abandoned, it is just fine. Hotel was also clean and the staff was helpful. If you're looking for a basic, affordable option, this one is pretty good.

“Not impressed”

I was very disappointed---the area the hotel was in did not impress me!!! Also we paid XXX amount of dollars when we could have stayed at a nicer hotel that offered a pool and shuttle to the stadium. I fell like we were jipped and I will not be staying there again.
