“Great hotel if you can get through the street construction”

When we finally found the hotel, we were surprised to discover that the street was under construction. Luckily, the only open lane allowed us to get to the hotel. The hotel itself was very nice - clean and quiet, despite its proximity to the freeway.

“Wonderful staff and very helpful!!”

There is something contagious at the hotel, it is the Aretha laughter at the front desk! She made me laugh all the time whenever I approached the Front Desk. I think that every hotel should have an Aretha to greet people not just with a smile but a countagious laughter!!

“Nice hotel”

Room was clean and front desk was nice. Pool area was nice, as well. There were several noisy kids staying on the same floor as I, but that was the only problem that I had while staying there.

“Typical Courtyard”

I stay at Marriott Courtyards whenever possible because they seem to have very consistent quality from time to time and location to location, and this hotel was no exception. Maybe not the most luxurious, but very clean and comfortable with courteous employees. You always know what you are going to get. The rates are usually very good when you stay during a time when business travelers are not on the road, such as weekends and during the holidays. This particular hotel is also in a good location in that it has quick freeway access to the airport and has a lot of nearby restaurants.

Area recommendations

Westport Plaza, with good shops, restaurants and nightlife, is just a couple blocks from the hotel.

“A great bang for the buck.”

The site is a little tricky to find at first. You can see it from the highway, but have to wind around a little to get there. The staff was extremely friendly. When our family came to pcik us up the lady at the desk stood ourtside and talked them in when they got lost. The breakfast was great and the hot food was prepared fresh.

Area recommendations

The Westport Plaza area is not recommended if you want to shop. There are a lot of places to eat, but little shopping. That particular venue is accessible only by taxi or car, not a place to leave on foot.

“Was really impressed with hotel.”

We were really pleased with the hotel. From check in to check out everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. The grounds, guest rooms, public rooms were really nice. We also liked that it was really quiet. We would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in St Louis.

“Walking distance of main Westport Plaza Entertainment Complex”

We basically only slept and ate breakfast at the hotel. There was a delivery service that we used one night rather than wait hours to be seated at the Westport Plaza restaurants.

Westport Plaza is self-contained as an entertainment and limited shopping complex.

When to go

Westport Plaza It is right of the main north-south "outer-belt" highway, 270 with many entertainment and shopping options typified by being surrounded (within 3-5 miles) by a typical, upper-middle class bedroom suburbs of Ladue, Maryland Heights, and Creve Ceour.Both downtown (via 40East & 270) is about 20 minutes away as is the airport at Hwy 70East & 270. There are multiple attractions off of Hwy 40 including the zoo, planetarium, Science Center, Forest Park (largest urban park outside of NYC's Central Park), many museums, concert halls, football, baseball, arena, Gateway Arch, riverboat casinos, Laclede Landings nightlife, and NASCAR on the other side downtown across the river. There is a light rail system from 270 going East to downtown and across the river into Illinois (Lewis & Clark tourist attractions; old riverport town of Alton, and Scott air force base).
