Enjoyable stay

Posted 09-Oct-2014 on Hotels.com
The only real negative i would say is there is no lift and there are numerous stairs which need to be navigated to move around the hotel. Someone with limited mobility could find this a problem. The other small irritation was the poor water pressure to the shower. These would not stop us from staying there again as the staff were very friendly and service in all areas was excellent.

Great Views

Great location half way between St Hellier and St Aubin on the main bus route. Not ideal for those who cannot climb stairs as a taxi would be required to access the hotel

Fantastic view from restaurant

Posted 23-Sep-2014 on Hotels.com
And yes a comfy bed and good food. On the negative side we had a side room ( someone has to) and the bill was very wrong ( but soon corrected). Waiting staff were excellent - balancing the friendly and efficient - and the choice and standard of food at breakfast was good. If I'm back in Jersey I'll be back there to try the pool !

Best view over the bay

Posted 13-Sep-2014
Pros: Nice and quiet. Were able to sleep with the windows open without being bothered by any noise.
Cons: This hotel may not be the best for all people because of the stairs.
Location: The town of St Helier not far away.
We were very pleased with the location of the hotel. Such a contrast to most of the island where high hedges tend to obscure your views . The weather was lovely and we could enjoy sitting outside the restaurant looking down over the whole sandy bay.

Nice hotel with truly stunning views

Posted 05-Sep-2014
Pros: Views. Outside terrace. Staff. Pool area
Cons: Rooms are quite small.
Location: The location is all about the views. There is a pub located within 5 minutes of the hotel but didn't visit so can't comment. Supermarket nearby.
The Cristina is a lovely hotel. The staff we met were all professional and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We booked a standard sea view room with balcony; the view didn't disappoint however the room was a lot smaller than I would expect of a 4 star hotel of this calibre, with wardrobe space quite limited for a one week stay. The bed though was very comfortable and it was nice to have a small safe. The Cristina is up a hill and located roughly 2 miles in either direction from St Hellier and St Aubin, there is very little located close to the hotel so unless hiring a car then you may need to budget for taxis or be able to walk down the hill to catch a bus - these were regular and inexpensive. It is a lovely walk though along the promenade in either direction. Due to the location and inclement weather during our stay - we requested after 2 nights to transfer to the Somerville Hotel in St Aubin - where we were spending the majority of our time and which is a lovely village with fantastic restaurants and a very pretty harbour. This was accommodated for an additional charge and we didn't regret the transfer so it may be worth considering the additional cost of the Somerville for individuals looking for that little bit of extra quality and a better located hotel. It's part of the same group. We would consider Cristina again though as there is much to commend about it.

Seaside in need of update

Posted 08-Aug-2014
Pros: The staff were very nice, polite And helpful.
Cons: Decor and furniture needs updating. Pool is seriously overlooked by many many rooms.
The hotel is fine but that's it. The public bar and lounge area is lovely and has fresh decor and new carpet with the reception and hallway done in the same way. But the room was dated - it was very clean but the decor was just about adequate and was in need of a long overdue update. The curtains although be clean and good quality could have been over 20years old, the same with the lighting, hair dryer and coffee mugs in the room. The breakfast was very good and the staff great but again the room and furniture were old and tired. We did have a nice stay and the staff were faultless it's a shame the hotel let the staff down. You need to spend some money on the hotel to charge the prices you are asking.

Wonderful views and faultless customer service

Posted 08-Jul-2014
Pros: I liked the sea views and the approachable staff.
Cons: Nothing could be improved.
Location: We walked into St Helier one morning - a lovely walk along the promenade by the sea. We caught the mini train (road train) back to St Aubin.
We were staying to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. We were immediately made to feel very welcome by the hotel staff and nothing was too much trouble for them. Our room had a fabulous view over the bay and, even though we had booked a sea view standard room, was better than we had expected. The dining room had a panoramic view of the bay and was a great place to start the day with a delicious breakfast. We had an evening meal in the restaurant and couldn't fault the food or the service - my husband had the lobster and raved about it ! The atmosphere in the hotel was relaxed and welcoming. I would definitely go again. We walked into St Helier itself from the hotel along the promenade by the sea. The hotel is in an ideal location.

Wonderful Holiday at Beautiful Hotel

Posted 07-Jul-2014
Pros: The staff were so helpful and the facilities were excellent. The food was lovely and the Hotel just made you feel so welcome.
Cons: Our bedroom was lovely but would benefit from having fully opening windows and not just fanlight openings.
Location: The hotel was perfectly located for exploring the island using a car, with the War Tunnels and beautiful beaches close by and also close to St Helier.
We had a beautiful holiday in Jersey staying at the wonderful Cristina Hotel. The hotel had amazing views across St Aubins Bay and was very comfortable with wonderful staff who made you very welcome and for whom nothing was too much trouble. The weather was brilliant and we all felt completely relaxed from our holiday in such a lovely place.
