Loved The Sebel Creswick Forest Resort. It had everything one would want on holidays. We stayed in July 2014 so the weather was terrible but inside The Sebel it was warm and cosy. The fireplace was wonderful. Lots of room to move for our family of five. Two bedrooms upstairs were the perfect size and both with their own ensuite, albeit a little small. Also, both rooms had a bath. Downstairs was the kitchen, dining and lounge area. The only downside was that there was no wifi. Surely in this day and age wifi should be freely available everywhere. Also, we were charged a fee for using our MasterCard!! Ludicrous...
Hotel is in a beautiful setting. Went for a conference do didn't explore much. Room was huge and overlooked a very pretty wooded golf course. Happy with everything and would go back again perhaps bringing the family for a weekend away.
Only criticism was the night before the conference, our dinner in the restaurant took 2 hrs to arrive. They clearly were short staffed. We ordered hamburgers so very simple meals. We got complimentary desserts as an apology. Otherwise other conference meals were good.
We spent the last night of our holiday in Victoria at this apartment, and were very impressed. The apartment was furnished and decorated tastefully. The apartment block is in a nice location, a quiet, tree - lined street with the lake within two minutes walk.
We stayed for only one night during a quick trip to Victoria. The gracious old hotel is well worth the price even if you only do it once. It is an experience, not just a place to sleep. The staff were very friendly and helpful and dining in was a great experience. We also enjoyed the piano player in the main bar. The location in the center of the city was great as there are a lot of wonderful colonial buildings and the statues and Christmas decorations in the main street were delightful and all within a short stroll after dinner.
We were offered free WIFI as part of our price, but the WIFI only worked in the hall outside the room. Also for the price the bedding was quite basic. TV only worked properly in one room, not the 2nd bedroom. Otherwise clean and friendly staff.
