We had a great stay at the Divi. It is a little different than your typical all-inclusive hotel. There are not as many food choices because all of the restaurants are not open at the same time, but we always found plenty of different things to eat and thought that the food was very good. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful.
their web site does not do them justice, beautiful hotel at a beautiful location.
due to limited finances we booked the least expensive room .
when we checked in they upgraded us to the beach front room on the beach.
the stay went uphill from there. the room was great and the staff is too, be sure to speak with Julie the concierge, she will be sure your trips are booked, taxis, etc.
food was very good, some portions are on the small side, some are not, at their beach, chairs, kayaks, snorkel fins, tubes etc all included and they have plenty and a very helpful person at the beach shack
My husband and I and another couple recently had the opportunity to stay at Carambola Renaissance Marriott. After reading the reviews I was a bit concerned it would be unsatisfactory, and my hubby is quite picky. When we arrived for check in the staff literally already knew who we were and had our reservations waiting. They even gave us a delicious cup of rum punch on the house! We got a ocean front room and we were very satisfied with it. It appears that all of the rooms are updated at this time so there isn't a bad room on the property. I think the bad reviews were pre renovation. The staff at this property was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Most of the people on the island were. We loved the close proximity of the tide pool hike to this hotel, didn't have to leave property to fund trail head. And the beach... Wow... It was completely amazing. I'm a travel agent and have been a lot of places. The beach on this property was one of the most picturesque beaches I've ever laid eyes on! The hotel is also in close proximity to the bioluminescent bays. If you have never had the opportunity to visit a bio bay, I highly recommend it! It's like liquid stars, amazing! I liked the remoteness of this property. We visited Christianstead one day and were really happy we decided not to stay in that area. There were a few shady characters lurking around there and we didn't feel as safe as we did at Carambola. I am ready to visit here again! Carambola made our trip awesome!
"Best little island getaway with unsurpassed beach."
Staff goes above and beyond what is necessary to make your stay pleasurable. Kelly, Irene are sensitive, fun, kind. This resort feels like a family away from home. It is a fun gathering place for local island people and visitors. The adjoining restaurant staff including Chef Brandon, Matthew --etc. are also a part of a welcome group. Chef Brandon is a talented chef with unique, delicious creations. He is truly a great addition, his dishes are some of the best we have had, and # 1 on the island. If you want a quiet, welcoming, fun, site with the best beach on the island--STAY and EAT (Beachside Café) here.

My wife and I stayed here for 6 nights for our honeymoon in October. The owner Chuck took really great care of us. He took us night snorkeling, which was one of the coolest things I've ever done. He also gave us a lot of great tips on spots to check out on the island. I was anxious about getting a car and driving on the left. He went so far as to let us borrow his van and drive it on the back roads over to the grocery store to get a feel for driving on the left.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Pat at the front desk.
The bed in the room was very comfortable, and the air conditioning and ceiling fan worked well to keep the room cool. We had the ocean right outside our back door and we enjoyed sitting on the deck and relaxing.
The freshwater pool was very pleasant.
We enjoyed a couples massage, as well as a yoga class that both happened under the palm trees right next to the ocean.
An added touch that we enjoyed was a complimentary half-pint of rum that was provided upon our arrival.
Looking for a place to stay in downtown Christensted, location an price can't be beat. Located right on the boardwalk of downtown Cheistensted. Room very clean and located with walking distance to restaurants, Scuba shops, and few bars.
Angry Nates directly next door for breakfast, other great restaurants include Rum Runners (can pick your own lobster $24 lb), Brew Pub, You Are Here, and 40 Strand. St Croix Ultimate Bluewater Adventure is great place to use for diving trips. Take any leftovers for the joy of feeding the large tarpins.
"One of the best bed and breakfasts in the world."
This was the most incredible experience. The ENTIRE staff was so nice, fun, professional; and great to be around! Even the "cleaning" staff would make sure they saw you everyday and asked if they could do anything for me! EVERYTHING was clean and fresh the entire time. The bed/bedroom was great, the pool was kept clean everyday; and the views everywhere were magnificent. Everyone was so willing to help with whatever you need. I was there on my own, and the rest of the guests along with the staff made me feel like part of the "family"!!! I have recommended the Carringtons Inn to all my friends and when I was downtown Christiansted, I would even recommend it to people I would meet, especially if they complained about the place they were staying. I will ALWAYS stay at the Carringtons Inn, and so will my friends. One more thing...I NEVER eat breakfast, but I did everyday I was there. The food was INCREDIBLE; honestly, the best breakfast I have ever eaten, and a great variety.
