“Not very impressed”

The room wasn't horrible but the bathroom smelled like smoke and our air.didn't work nor did the internet. I think it was a bit expensive for what you got.

“Ok Hotel”

It was a decent hotel, with clean rooms, but definitely not worth the price we paid. Continental breakfast was mini danish, not even decaf coffee. No wifi in rooms, even though I was told it was available. Right across from beach pier, so very convenient, but just too pricey.

Area recommendations

This area was perfect if your focus is the beach, but you want to get to mainland quickly. If you're interested in the Historic district only, there are some nice inns right in the heart of old St. Augustine too.

“my favorite place on the beach”

The rooms have been remodeled and new paint and carpet and mattresses make this a really nice place to stay for the price.

“Want to go back”

Excelent service, comfortable room, clean but had an ordor that was not too good. But would go back anytime. Loved the indoor pool.

“Not Impressed”

when I walked into my room there was a bad smell. There was a bug in my bathtub. they say free internet but I was only able to access it one time. The pool windows were dirty.

“Liked it”

This hotel is in a tough spot when it comes to maintenance because It's right on a bend in the Atlantic shoreline that has so much salty wind coming out of the east that the treetops are flat and the trunks all lean west. (really purdy) It's hard on cars and hotels too but this hotel tries hard to keep up. No spider webs in August in the outdoor corridors and the floor in the corner behind the bathroom door was clean. For cleanliness friendliness and proximity to the beach it's worth the money. If you want plush luxury you'll need to spend another hundred a night. The coffee maker in the room didn't work and the hot tub button was screwy but worked and there was a black something around the baseboards from the serious humidity I guess, but it doesn't come off from washing, I tried. So it's not perfect but I'd stay again if I want a pretty nice room in a convienient spot with a hot tub for less money. Probably the best you'll get on that street for the price.

Area recommendations

There's a lot to do in St. Augustine and it's relatively small so anywhere you stay should be fun and it will be easy to get to other areas no matter where you stay. Downtown is historical and interesting, visit the graveyards and the old school, listen to live music and have wine at the winery but don't forget the beach! it's a magnificent shoreline and if you have the time take the beautiful trip down A1A. There's the first oceanaquarium in the US and go way down to almost Ormond to a neat little restaurant on the seaside. It's on the left and has valet parking, not fancy. Also St. Augustine has two BIG outlet malls that offer everything! Great place for a vacation, I've been going there for about 14 years many times a year and I am still not tired of it.

When to go

Not August. But if you'd rather have the heat than crowds, go in August.

“Our favorite in the area.”

Great location. Reasonable rates. We enjoy the indoor pool. We like spending the occasional weekend in St Augustine and this is here we say.

“GREAT location!”

Super-friendly desk staff, clean rooms, great location. The continental breakfast is the standard cold cereal, danishes, and donuts, but at least there's a mini-fridge and microwave in each room, so you can bring some healthier options with you. There's a gas station next door where you can pick up cold drinks and the beach is right across the street.

“Good enough!”

Great location, directly across from the beach and sand volleyball arena. That was definitely the best thing about the hotel. It was recently 'remodeled,' but still had a weird, not-so-fresh smell. Still, sheets were clean, staff was friendly, price was right. Would go back for the beach, but would more likely seek an affordable B&B in St. Augustine to make it a more relaxing getaway.

“No frills, good location”

Motel style, no business center, couldn't use a printer, across from beach, near restaurants. Breakfast, all sugar and carbs.
