Superbly friendly stafff. Took care of us and our 19mo old exceptionally well. A lot more vibe and energy here than @ Hilton Colombo.

I was quite nervous about going to Sri Lanka since I hadnt been there in the last 10 years and more importantly since this was my husband's first trip. I wanted him to have a great enough time where he'd want to keep coming back. One of the main reasons my husband and I will definitly return over and over again is because of the famous hospitality shown to us by the staff of Cinnamon Grand. From the moment we checked in, we felt the wamth of the staff and the care they give to each visitor. My birthday fell on the day before we checked in, when we checked in they have a lovely birthday cake for me with some other goodies. These small gestures go a long way! Apart from these lovely gestures, the facility itself was lovely. Our room was lovely and so were the pools etc. The restaurants not only had great service they also had excellent food and there were so many restaurants to choose from that we never went to the same one twice (even though we wanted to!). Our all around experience at the Cinnamon Grand was just that - GRAND and we would recommend this hotel to everyone.

One of the nicer places to stay in Colombo without going Boutique. Great service - I needed a late checkout due to hangover on 1st JAN and they were very obliging.

“Very fine hotel”

If you happen to be in Colombo, I suppose this hotel is one of he nicest. They have many restaurants and the food was always excellent. I stayed on the exec floor and was pleased. I wasnt wowed but it was very good service overall. My only small issue was that I paid about 25 USD to get to the hotel from the airport in a regular taxi. The way the hotel is operated makes it difficult to get a regular taxi from the hotel. They almost make you use THEIR taxi service...which is ,of course , double the price of a regular taxi. They wanted to charge that to my bill but I was able to pay in local currency and save about 7 USD and avoid transaction fees at home. I took their city tour, which was supposed to last 4 hours ( it lasted 3 ) . It is kind of lame and wouldnt do it again. Their isnt really much to see. Overall, it was very fine and I would have no problem recomending it.

Comfortable modern rooms. Exec floors have great service. Breakfast choices could vary from day to day. Check-in and checkout was very fast, no waiting to check mini-bar etc. Hotel car service is good, no need to book, drivers know where to go and reasonably priced. Overall the CG is a good quality hotel for business stay in Colombo.

“OK as a business hotel”

As a business hotel, it seems fine but as a family holiday (couple with small toddler) would not recommend unless staying for a very short stay. Gave this an overall rating of 3 rather than 4 because 1) In room dining was appalling. Food was late and barely edible (we left most of it on the plates). Previously we ordered pizza from the restaurant, Echo and this was quite good and we recommend. 2) Bathroom amenities quite stingy for example no cotton buds. 3) Breakfast was chaotic. They ran out of clean glasses and were clearly not prepared for the amount of people needing breakfast. However, their breads are delicious. 4) Does feel dated (1990s)

there are no see near from this hotel you can reach, it's look like barracks because of army forces check points every 200 Miters, the reception staff was rude one good thing there are a small mall attached you can go to down floor to restaurants ,supermarket or for shooing
