“Hotel was nothing to brag about, however, the location for the purpose of my stay was excellent.”

I was with people who had 5 other rooms and all the rooms I came in contact with definately needed some type of maintenance. i.e. cracked floor tiles, ripped comforters, cracks in the walls. The clerk at the desk did allow me to check in early so me and my fellow travelers could have in place to stow our gear. I did appreciate the hospitality, in that respect.

“mixed bag”

no wifi signal in my room ; pool closed by the board of health ; sheets were in disrepair ; convenient/close to airport ; majority of tiles in bathroom were broken ; no wake up call as requested ; nice tree filled area ; right next to lincoln tomb/museum ; continental breakfast limited on fruit choice.

“Pleasantly Surprised”

When I first pulled in, I had my qualms as the hotel had a "tired" look. This appeared to be a HoJo that was a "hot" spot back when, but had slipped with the times. So I was pleasantly surprised, when after checking in (the front staff man although new and in training was very nice) and getting to my room found that it wasn't the flea bag that I had feared. It was appointed as one might expect for the price range. Everything was in good condition and most importantly, there was a nice sized desk to put my laptop on and spread out some files to do work. The hotel is set back from the road so road noise is almost nonexistent. And although the hotel was fully booked, the guests that night were remarkably quiet. The hotel is very conveniently located to the airport, which is maybe a mile away. This is the main reason I booked it as I had an early morning flight and didn't want to spend a lot of time driving from some outlying hotel. It is also next to the cemetary in which Lincoln's tomb is located. It's actually a very pleasant 15-20 minute walk from the hotel to the tomb. I happened to be there on a Tuesday evening and was able to get to see the Civil War reenactors tatoo. This is performed every summer Tuesday evening starting at 7pm. The flag is then given to one of the attendee's. And after the ceremony, the tomb is opened for viewing. DEFINITELY A MUST SEE IF YOU ARE THERE. Breakfast was adequate. Great price for the location.

“the worst bed I ever tried to sleep in”

I stayed at this hotel because it was close to the IL state fair. It was a very bad experience.

“Springfield”

“Smelly Room”

I upgraded to a suite when I first booked the room because I was concerned with the low rate. The room felt very old and needed updating. The worse part about this room was that is smelled like smoke or mold, not a room I'd recommend for astmatics.

“Will use this one again...”

It is an older hotel/motel but good and clean. The chairs in the breakfast area need to be replaced but we consider that to be low on the importance list.

“Great for what we needed at the time.”

We were attending a family funeral and the hotel was just what we needed.

“Great Value and Pet friendly!”

For an extended weekend trip, we couldn't be happier with the choice of our hotel. They were pet friendly, something VERY important to us. The location was convenient and the price was great.
