“Location, convenience”
We stayed over Thanksgiving. Staff was friendly and the location near the Battlefield Mall was very convenient. The room was large (we were in the "penthouse") and having the separate areas for sleepers made it feel almost as if it were a studio apartment. The steps were rather worn, which caused some concern for my elderly mother but otherwise, the place is in pretty good shape. All in all, I felt that it was a very good value for the price.
“I would reserve again”
Convenient location with the mall, restaurants and even banks are all close proximity to this hotel. I would book again.
“WILL BE BACK”
I LOVED THE HOTEL AND THE ROOM WAS NICE FOR OUR TWO NIGHT STAY I WAS KIND OF UPSET THAT FRIDAY MORNING I WOKE UP AT 6:30 TO GET BREAKFAST AT 7AM WHICH THEY SAID THEY STARTED AT 6AM WHEN I GOT THERE THERE WAS NOTHING SET UP AND I ASKED THE LADY WHEN THEY WOULD BE SERVING SHE FIRST IGNORED ME WHEN I ASKED AGAIN SHE SAID OH I WILL SET UP NOW LIKE SHE DIDNT KNOW IT WAS A HOUR PAST. THE SECOND MORNING I WENT TO GET FOOD AT 8AM WHICH THERE WAS FOOD BUT NOT WHAT WAS TOLD TO ME THAT THEY WOULD HAVE THEY DIDNT HAVE PANCAKES OR WAFFLES ALL I SAW WAS CEREAL BRISKET AND GRAVY WITH MUFFINS AND THEY LOOKED LIKE THEY HAD BEEN SITTING THERE WHICH TELLS ME THEY DONT KEEP THE FOOD FILLED ITS MORE OF A FIRST COME FIRST SERVE OTHER THAN THE FOOD I LOVED THE LOCATION AND THE NIGHT STAFF WERE VERY NICE
“great place to stay.”
We were in town for an appointment for my husband and stay at this hotel. our suite was very clean and confortable. The staff was very helpful and frendly. We definitely will stay here again...
“Lots of room. Good value.”
It's not a five star hotel, but it's notvpriced like one either. For the money it was very good. The sinks were a little in need of repair. The upstairs bathroom was quite small and the fan was very loud. But it was clean. It had lots of room and everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Will be back again!
“Home away from home”
This hotel goes beyond your average extended stay hotels with outdoor pool, free laundry, hot tub, free breakfast, housekeeping and more. Choose the 2 level penthouse suite and have some privacy away from the kids.
“No Phone Service at Front Desk”
I normally don't write a review unless I believe a customer should be aware. We get to the room and our two girls have the sofa sleeper, which had old food and crayons crushed in it. Then we go out to the very small balcony and it doesn't seem very safe, one of the boards is quite wobbly and loose. The next morning we wake up late due to the alarm clock not working. Towards the evening I try to call the front desk for more towels, the phone doesn't work. There are two phones at least, and we then try again to contact the front desk, but no one answers. Finally, we get an answer, it's a maintenance guy and says he's no where near the building we are staying in. I couldn't believe this place, I hope expedia looks further into their affiliation of this hotel.
“Springfield Basketball tourney weekend”
Arbor Suites at the Mall was a convenient location for the families of our traveling team who were playing in a tournament nearby. The common area with gas grills provided opportunity for feeding the team reasonably. The suites rooms were spacious with full kitchens. There is a small pool and hot tub as well as a basketball court. Reasonable room rates through Expedia.
“Inappropriately positioned on Expedia”
In and of itself, this hotel may not be bad, and certainly is not a bad value regardless. My primary complaint is that the hotel is positioned (in my opinion) on Expedia as a suite hotel, assumedly along the lines of a Comfort Suites, AmeriSuites, etc. However, in reality, this is an extended stay hotel, where one should not expect cleaning service, period. Despite the fact that the signs in the room promised daily cleaning M-F if you were staying less than six days, our first morning, nothing was done. Because this was a Sunday, despite being agitated, after seeing the sign, we decided to not say anything. The next morning, a Monday, we left the room by 10 a.m. and when we returned at 2:30 p.m., the room still had not been addressed. When I went to the front desk to inquire as to why this was, I was told that there was no daily cleaning service. I then pointed out what was on the sign, and reminded the clerk that this *was* a weekday. After several seconds of silence, the clerk finally agreed to send someone to clean the room. Upon returning later that evening, I found that only the main beds had been made, not the sofabed. Nor had there been any vacuuming or other cleaning. Shortly thereafter, we elected to go to another hotel. My best advice is to simply understand that you are getting a room to lay your head, and that is it. Do not expect to get the amenities of other suite hotels, and certainly not those of a Homewood Suites or Residence Inn.
“Not bad....”
Abor at the Mall was a nice place to stay when my fiancé and I were in town for a couple days. Our room was clean and full of amenities. However, when we pulled the couch back to let out the fold-a-way bed, we were a bit disgusted with the mess under it. Not the worse thing ever but lots of crumbs and the like; something you would expect a cleaning crew to get at least monthly or after checkouts. Also, the TV was an older 27" on a cart (to be viewed from the couch or bed) and the picture quality was not good and even worse when you moved the cart around; jostled the connection a bit. But in the end, I feel we got our money worth, we would recommend the establishment to others, and will likely stay there again if the need arises.
