In town for a show

Posted 14-Feb-2015
I booked a night here because I was coming to Spokane for a concert downtown. I've never been to the city, and this hotel wasn't my first choice, but I booked things late. That said, I'm happy that I stayed here. It was close to where I needed to go, and there were plenty of options within a block or two for dinner and breakfast the next morning. The building looks great and the room was comfortable. Best of all, the staff was super friendly and helpful. I had a good experience staying here.

Great downtown choice

Overall great experience. Continental breakfast was a bit awkward with a staff member standing guard while just the two of us were there. But staff was great. Room was nice--but a bit dark, even with all the lights on.

Good location, nice facilities, beds need work

Posted 10-Feb-2015
Pros: Historic feel, free wifi
Cons: The beds & pillows
Location: Fox Theater, Knitting Factory, River Park Square
The Lusso is a well-located, classic hotel in downtown Spokane. It's very close to the Entertainment District (such as it is for Spokane -- the Fox Theater and the Knitting Factory), and not far from shopping and everything downtown. The lobby is nice, and there's a pub on premises (although it seems to close early -- was closed after our show ended at 10:30 p.m.). There's also a small complimentary breakfast in the morning -- looked like coffee & pastries. Wifi is Otherwise, the hotel seems to be in a well-renovated older building, which gives a nice historic feel, but the layout is fairly confusing upstairs. The rooms & bathrooms are large, and the water pressure in the shower will blow you away. Our main complaint was the bed. Our mattress was old, and sloped towards the middle. The pillows were way too soft -- I might as well not have had a pillow, since my was so soft. I woke up with a headache from the pillow. Our other complaint was a minor one with service. There's a safe in the room which we wanted to use. There were no instructions, and it wasn't obvious how to lock it (I use these all the time in hotels -- this one was weird and didn't work as usual). I called the front desk, and she told me that I should read the (non-existent) instructions in the safe. She told me she'd have Engineering call to walk me through it. They never did. Overall, nice hotel. The bed was the only main complaint -- and the service might not be great if something goes wrong

Nice boutique hotel in downtown Spokane

Posted 19-Jan-2015
This boutique hotel is across the street from and under the same management as The Davenport. I really enjoyed my stay and the rate was good via Expedia. The staff are great and very attentive, and the historic facility was apparently renovated several years ago. In addition to The Davenport, there are several new restaurants, a pub and coffee shop next door to or across the street from this hotel. Free wi-fi. Valet parking is across the street at The Davenport.

Cons: You need hooks in the bathroom. There is one useless little knob but no where to put towels, robes etc.
We have stayed here three times and it is very comfortable, clean and easy. A very good value.

Authentic, luxurious & comfortable!

Hotel Lusso maintains its authenticity to turn of the century. It's comfort was fabulous & location perfect! We preferred this to the actual Davenport! (Lusso is owned by Dabenport). We will go back.
