“Brillant!”

After quite a long flight from nyc to amsterdam to zagreb and on to split I was delighted to discover hotel. Perched on a hilltop overlooking the ocean, it is the perfect hotel. Small and personable, excellent location, perfect for a quite peaceful holiday. If you really want to get away from it all I highly recommend this hotel..its a stroll from rocky beach with crystal clear waters, a block away from the meridian resort and just 5 miles outside town. The local bus stops are right outside the hotel so one can catch a bus into town, they go every half hour. Its peaceful, delightful staff, good food and excellent overall service. The terraces are a great place to view the amazing sunsets. The beach is lovely, quite with no crowds, just some locals in for daily swims! I have to say this is one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed at

split, vis, omis, brac all worth the trip. and of course.. relaxing on the beach in podstrana.
When to go
I went in late september expecting autumn weather and it was almost 90 degrees, the water was warm and the ocean was delightful. The city of split was not crowded with tourists, and neither were the islands, Vis was amazing with no tourists, very few locals, it was so peaceful. Summer clothing, with a sweater for the evening. Comfortable walking shoes, as lots of old steps about 12 inches high and cobblestone streets in majority of places.. Local buses and ferries get you where you need to go, really no need to hire a car. Food has alot of Italian influences and ofcourse lots of sea food.

“Great Hotel”

Great breakfast and location, only 10 minute drive to Split and 40 min to Brela beach.

Area recommendations
Split city Center, Krka National Park waterfalls and Brela beach.
Getting around
I recommend to either bring your car or to rent a vehicle to be able to explore all the great croatian beaches and cities.

“Out of Season Eden”

A recently built well furnished and set up Hotel,with magnificent view of the bay.Coastal walkway about 50mtrs away-but unsuitable for infirm or wheelchairs.Breakfast and Dinners as good as could be expected since chef was on holiday at the very end of season.At times we were the only guests-but would not hesitate to stay there again.Really need car to access Split and other areas.

Area recommendations
Split is a vibrant town with a bit to see,it's very busy when the cruisers are in,but you can sit and watch the world go by for hours.After 2 days you would want to go somewhere else but the distances are to be considered as it takes around 5hrs to Dubrovnick by quite hairy roads.But everywhere the views are stunning and everyone we met was so friendly-I think you want at least 2 centres for 7 days.The Hotel Eden is about 20 mins by car from Split centre.

“Can't wait to go back”

Everything was perfect, except the breakfast. They should learn how to bake the bacon and sausages at the breakfast buffet. Dinner was cooked perfect. Swimming pools is very impressive, unfortunately the water was extremely cold. The walk to the see seems not owned by the hotel, however I suggest they clean that area.

“Hôtel Eden à Podstrana (Croatie)”

Ce petit hôtel nous a donné entière satisfaction. Il est très confortable, moderne et très propre. Le personnel est très professionnel, aussi bien à la réception que le personnel de restauration et les femmes de chambre. Tous sont à votre écoute et prêts à vous rendre service. Le mobilier est fonctionnel, en très bon état (literie, placards, salle de bains, etc....) La climatisation est très performante, pas du tout "agressive" comme dans certains hôtels. Bref, un hôtel à recommander sans hésitation. Les environs immédiats de l'hôtel, par contre, mériteraient un bon nettoyage, mais cela n'a rien à voir avec l'hôtel lui-même.

La ville de Split, qui est magnifique : ville ancienne, port très animé et très convivial L'ile de Brac (nous ne connaissons pas les autres), avec ses petits villages et ses petits ports, ainsi que ses carrières de calcaire blanc très caractéristique. Le parc de la Krka avec ses magnifiques chutes d'eau La ville d'Omis (point de départ de balades en bâteau sur la Cetina) La riviera de Makarska et les jolis villages du bord de mer
When to go
Nous y sommes allés en septembre 2011 et il faisait très chaud.
Getting there
Avion direct Lyon-Split une fois par semaine le samedi. En voiture, ce qui ne semble pas poser de problème, si ce n'est la distance.
Getting around
Soit avec la propre voiture, soit en voiture de location (ce qui fut notre cas)
Dining
De très bons petits restaurants autour du port de Split, pas chers et avec du très bon poisson.

Très bon hotel à 10 min en voiture de Split. Confortable, personnel charmant et compétent, propre, calme, les pieds dans l'eau pour un prix convenable. Parfait !
