“Nice hotel but a bit outside the city centre”
Overall, it's a nice hotel, huge room, nice gym and swimming pool, excellent breakfast and restaurant. However, to be fair, it is more a 4 stars hotel than a real 5 stars and the location is a bit outside the city centre and not the best area of Split. But I would recommend it if you are staying in Split for one or two nights.
“Atrium-Modern Hotel in Marginal Area”
The hotel is on a busy street about a 20 minute walk from the town center/sights. It is a modern looking and feeling hotel but the neighborhood is not attractive. There is a charge for parking but they did not bill us for it.
“Atrium Hotel, Split, Croatia”
If you can afford to stay here, do it! 24-hr staffed front desk, very attentive. An amazing breakfast spread with something to please everyone- from cereal to meat paste, scrambled eggs to grilled vegetables. It is a 15 minute walk from the historic center, so it is not like you would pop in to your room for a nap, and it is on a busy main street (I used ear plugs to avoid being bothered with traffic noise in the morning). However, it is on the #37 bus line that comes from the airport so it is easy to find in the dark due to its large lighted sign at the top of the hotel. The neighborhood isn't lively at night, it seems to be a business/banking district. Also, don't be fooled by the graffitti, it seems to be a problem everywhere in Split.
“Atrium in Split”
Overall we were happy with the hotel although we chose not to eat in the evenings at the hotel. The breakfast choice was excellent and made for a good start of the day. The only problem we encountered with our room was dealt with once the problem had been described in detail. The location of the hotel is on probably the major thoroughfare into split and the immediate surroundings with a number of residential blocks was not immediately appealing but we found the 20 minute walk into the centre of the old town was quite straightforward. We would have appreciated the opportunity to sample the Wellness area but as things turned out we found the fascinations of the Split area and the nearby islands too big a draw. Overall we would rate our experience as very good
“A good reason to visit Split”
One of the best hotels I have ever stayed. For sure the best hotel in Europe. The maintenance of the building was excellent. Very nice spa area. Very helpfull employees... the only think they can proove is the cleaning service of the rooms. It can be slightly better. It is good but copared to other facilities they provide, it can be improved... Excellent hotel!!!
“Not impressed”
The check in staff were extremely unfriendly and unaccommodating. When we checked in we asked about the spa opening times and which floor it was on. We were then told that the spa was still closed for refurbishment. The main reason we picked this hotel was because of the spa as we thought it would be nice to have a relaxing swim etc. before embarking on the rest of our holiday on board a sailing boat. The hotel website had said the spa would reopen on 1 June but we were visitng on 2 July and it was still not open so we had been misled. The hotel also refused to refund any money or provide anything else in compensation. Very disappointing.

“Real comfort”
Our stay at the Atrium was everything we could have asked for. The rooms were spacious and clean and the staff just couldn't do enough for us. Yes, as some others have mentioned, the view is over a main street, but there is nothing they can do about that! Breakfasts are lovely, as is eating in the restaurant - though very pricey! Reception will give you advice on buses to catch, sights to see and which beaches to visit. The supermarket round the back (Joker) is a blessing and there are a couple of cheaper places to grab a slice of pizza from for lunch. Restaurants are sometimes pretty tricky to hunt out as the Croatians I saw seemed to spend more time drinking coffee in bars than eating. But if you look, there are some nice places round the back streets by the harbour. I recommend the fish as it is always fresh and absolutely delicious! If you're stuck for places to eat, we asked taxi drivers to take us to places they recommended and they always hit the spot.
“Croatian comfort”
The Atrium Hotel is very new, modern and comfortable. The staff are extremely welcoming and helpful and do anything they can to make your stay enjoyable. Our room was large and spotlessly clean, with a well-appointed bathroom ( his' and her's sinks !) and it was very quiet. The swimming pool was tiny but great to cool down in at the end of another scorching Split day.The breakfast buffet was extensive and appetising- exactly what we needed to set us up for the day- and the evening meals were fantastic. Service was excellent and not intrusive and the waiting staff certainly knew their stuff.
“Excellent hotel in good location”
This hotel lived up to its 5-star rating. Our room was spacious for the three of us and well maintained. Our room was quiet and allowed us to sleep well. There is a modern shopping mall with a large supermarket 100 meters behind the hotel. There did not seem to be good class restaurants in walking distance, but the in-house restaurant was excellent and the prices reasonable. We really enjoyed our stay.
