Hotel was excellent, approx 200 yards from Trevi fountain, and at the wifes pace only 30 mins walk to Vartican, 25 to Forum. Great for a base as central so could keep popping back for a rest in the air con room. Staff were friendly and room was cleaned each day. Room had a safe too. Breakfast was ok, nothing special but catered for our needs. Only down side is no coffee/tea making facility in the room. Was able to leave bags at hotel on departure day which was good.
We took a tax to airport at the end of tri[, Campino is only euro 30 as advertised on the cabs, although the ride can be a bit like a roller coaster depending on the driver.
All in all a good hotel and would go back there if ever in Rome again.
Lovely central hotel within easy walking distance of all the main attractions, very helpful and informative staff who couldn't do enough to make our stay a joy - five minutes walk from the metro. We had the balcony room at the top with amazing views.

My daughter, two teenage grandsons and I visited Rome for a week where we spent 6 nights occupying two rooms at Hotel De Petris. This charming hotel was small but all I had wished. The english speaking staff was friendly, helpful, and available 24/7. The rooms were clean, quiet, and comfortable with good air conditioning, wifi and reasonably priced drinks in a small refrigerator. However, the best part was the location of the hotel. It was in walking distance of Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, the Pantheon, Capuchin Crypt, Piazza Barberini, city buses, the metro, hop on and hop off buses, ATM machines, numerous restaurants (including Hard Rock and Mac Donalds if you tired of Italian food), shopping, and small grocery stores.

The owner wrote a personal guide book for guests that is full of inside information and trustworthy recommendations. Everything is within walking distance, though a cab to Vatican City is advisable.
The property itself has the feel of apartments rather than hotel. This is great since you don't feel harassed by ott service offers.
