This smaller hotel has friendly and helpful staff. The room, even though a standard double, was a good size with a nice bathroom. The room was tastefully decorated and had a comfy bed! Located on the edge of the piazza del popolo, this hotel is on an excellent location for a variety of restaurants and bars, without being too touristy. However, it is only a minutes walk to the via del corso. It only took us 10 minutes to walk to the Spanish Steps, 15 minutes to the Pantheon and 30 minutes to the Colosseum, which we thought made it a better location as all attractions are accessible but it is a relatively quiet location.
Our stay was very pleasant. The best thing about this hotel is the excellent staff-everyone is so nice, friendly and very helpful! Marco and Jerry come to mind specifically. Thanks for all the help! Hotel staff always graciously greeting you. Hotel was quiet, good location, great restaurants on same street. Hotel was very clean and spacious with a fantastic breakfast and outdoor patio. The only con to this hotel is that you had to pay for Wi-Fi in your room. It was free in the hotel lobby, but not free in your room. This may have been a blessing, though, since when we were down in the lobby using the Wi-Fi, we had more staff interactions. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
This is a beautiful hotel run by equally beautiful people. The room was stunning and in keeping with the era of its origins. We were welcomed so nicely. The bar is classy and the barman can make fabulous cocktails. I know, I tried a few! The breakfast buffet covers all tastes and is plentiful and fresh. We had breakfast every morning in the cool courtyard. We also sat and viewed Rome from the rooftop terrace. The Locarno is well placed to see all the sights. About 5 mins walk to the Spanish Steps and a few minutes more to the Trevi Fountain . When we went it was 38° during the day but the rooms are airconditioned so we slept well as its in a quiet road. Can't recommend this highly enough. We will be returning.
Room as seen in photos, modern comfy bed and clean bathroom. Quiet at night. Taxi dropped us around the corner and an easy walk to hotel with lifts for luggage. location is 2 mins walk from Piaza d Papolo, right on the pedestrian shopping street. We can walk easily to spanish steps, pantheon, Piazza Navona. No actual reception onsite, they have local phone for you to call direct to the management mobiles
Location is excellent as based right in the centre of Rome. Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful - rooms are clean. Avoid booking small bedrooms as they lack natural light and are chlostrophobic.
the hotel decor is very traditional steeped in history and would highly recommend it, but would also highlight that this is not a modern looking hotel and subsequently, overall is a bit dark due to its decor and lack of windows that let in natural light.
A very welcoming and clean hotel. The staff were excellent and very helpful. The breakfast room offered a nice assortment of breakfast items. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend this hotel.
