“There are plenty of other hotels to choose from in Sheffield”

I've stayed at this hotel once before. I think on my previous stay I must have been given a free upgrade. My room on this occasion was small, dingy and uncomfortable. As with most hotels, the lighting was very dim, so if like me, you are a reader, then it is very difficult to see. The breakfast was reasonable enough, although I cannot understand why the Hilton chain insist on putting their bread into a fridge. It is always so cold. Most other hotels serve warm rolls/bread.

“Friendly hotel”

We were at Sheffield for a swimming gala so closeness to Ponds Forge was a must. We found that it was convenient for the city centre too. We got a friendly reception when we arrived and a voucher for the dining room. Food was really nice and the service was good. Beds were clean but could have been a bit more comfortable. Overall a pleasant experience.

“Looking forward to my next visit.”

I've stayed at the Hilton in Sheffield several times. It never fails to impress. The breakfast is excellent, the room is clean and comfortable. It is easily walkable into the city centre. I will definitely be going there again.

“Good for the offer price”

I would have been disappointed to have paid Hilton prices for this hotel, there was a problem with the bath and it was damaged, the location is not fantastic and parts of the room furnishings looked tired. But well worth it for the offer price at the time.

“Fantastic hotel, fantastic staff!”

We stayed at the Hilton Sheffield for the 2nd time in a few weeks because it was such a good experience the 1st time round. The second time our room wasn't quite as nice - rusty stains in the bath, malfunctioning plug in the sink... However, the rest of the room and every little bit of the service was just as fantastic. My husband has mobility problems & this hotel was ideal to accommodate them. Staff discreetly offered us rooms with grab-rails & emergency cords - nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was worth staying for in its own right! The only problem was just how busy it became at breakfast time during our second stay - everything was rather cramped & we had several near-misses with other guests pushing past & nearly dropping their full English down our necks!! That definitely had more to do with the rude nature of some othe guests though, nothing the hotel could have done other than evict them! Especially cheerful & helpful staff were Nicky @reception and Kev @breakfast. They seemed genuinely happy to be working, despite various uncalled-for demands from demanding guests. A credit to Sheffield!!!
