“Not Enough Staff”
The Novotel is a lovely hotel in an excellent location. We had a couple of problems, the window in the first room we were allocated was faulty, and no kettle in the alternative room. The staff couldn't have been friendlier, but were obviously so busy they just couldn't deal with issues as quickly as we would have liked. We had to ask twice for a kettle, and were kindly given complimentary drinks vouchers as an apology, but when we went to the bar a large party was checking in and there was no-one serving at the bar, so we couldn't use our vouchers. The staff were doing their very best to deal with everything and were a credit to the hotel, there just weren't enough of them to be able to cope with all the guests and their requirements.
“Best Hotel in Sheffield”
Stayed in this hotel for a brief trip away to go shopping in Meadowhall. We also booked a Suite for that extra bit of luxury and I would recommend anyone else to do the same. First off the room was fantastic. Of course with it being a suite it would have nice extras like extra living area space and separate toilet and bathroom, but we were pleasantly surprised to find the charge for all the TV and box office channels plus the internet connection was complimentary for a suite. Then we also had a mini coffee machine which was very tasty in the morning and much better than the standard 'room kettle'. The hotel itself was great and the new sauna and fitness area and pool were top notch and so great to have them in such a central location in a hotel in Sheffield. Just to mention for anyone staying here, outside the hotel is a Sainsbury's Express so its very convenient for a quick bottle of wine or food to take back to your room. We only discovered this having walked all the way into the town center and spent too much money of food from M & S. I know Sheffield pretty well and for the price, quality and location you cant really do any better. 10/10
“Novotel Sheffield”
Best location for smart bars and resturants. Hotel staff very helpful. Will be back. Booked with expedia for best price.
“Wouldn't recommend at present”
Breakfast service not good - had to wait 10 mins for sausages, ask for milk, ask for teaspoons, waitress's English v poor. Work being carried out in hotel so drilling noise all afternoon in conference room I was in - bad bad headache!! Leisure facility closed though could access another but not on site. Feel should have been informed of work going on when booked - could then have made informed choice. Wash basin in room did not drain away properly. V comfy bed though :)
“Bad experience”
We stayed there for two weeks. The service, specially the housekeeping, is very bad. They don’t care about cleaning the room. They don’t mop the bathroom floor. They were cheap. And the worst thing is the manager at reception desk, he was unfriendly. I really don’t recommend this hotel because the management is very bad
“Good location - just 5 mins from Train station. Easy to walk to dine and for a drink”
This was excellent value for money - good breakfast. Very convenient for the train station I would definitely come back to this hotel.
“Not a 4 star hotel, not even 2”
I stayed at this hotel only for one night, thank God! The receptionist was very slow, it took me 30 minutes to check in. The room was dirty, with hair in the bathroom just to be clear. There was an awful smell so that I had to keep the window open the all night. I asked to use the gym and they sent me to the swimming pool where there are two cardio machines. Then I discovered there was a proper gym round the corner which guests can use. Breakfast: it took them 10 minutes to give me a seat. Food was really really bad and coffee as well. I was glad when I finally checked out.

A great hotel in a very convenient location
“Really Great Deal”
Needed a hotel for only one night for a gig in Sheffield an it was a great choice. The brakefast buffet was brilliant and the option to choose whatever full english brakefast you wanted (not to mention how much of what) was great. The pool was a little odd having to walk through the reception area with towels and stuff but i would just reccomend getting changed in the pool changing rooms instead. Also wish the parking for about 18 hours was cheaper than 7 quid as that is the price for 24 hours anyway. All in all tho a fantastic place / location and price. Two thumbs up! :)
“Low cost and decent basic hotel”
The hotel location is very good and quite easy to find using Sat Nav. We stayed here for our daily trips to Peak district which is around 30 mins away and found it quite convenient. Note that the parking gets easily filled but you have the option of parking in a nearby big multi storey parking lot called Q-Park. The parking (in hotel and Q-Park) costs around 7 quid for 24hours. Breakfast is around 13 quid when not included in cost. Slightly pricey I felt. Rooms were of average size, clean, no view to talk about, had a mini bar, separate bath and toilet. No free TV channels - only pay per view. No free Wifi. As the title says its low cost and provides basic stuff. Anything extra costs money. Ideal for tourists.
