“lovely spacious room”

booked the room as a friend and i were going to the arena.was pleasantly surprised with the size of the room(executive suite).very clean and large bathroom with bath and seperate shower.

“The staff was superb”

My family and I were travelling to sheffield and I wanted two rooms but I booked by mistake single double beds in both rooms. when we arrived I pointed out that I should have booked two double beds in one room. They were able to accomodate our family requirements without extra charges. Also I asked for a late check-in out and again the staff was able to manage without penalties. Although the premises were average, the staff made the difference.

“Excellent value for money”

Excellent value for money for a family if you are happy to have one room with 2 double beds which were extremely comfortable

“Step back in time”

The location of the hotel was good, close enough to walk to tram stops etc. but very quiet. Room large and comfortable and facilities good. My main criticism is the cost of breakfast which at £12.50 I thought was excessive.

“Avoid”

Two sleepless nights. First in a small noisy room overlooking central courtyard (restaurant vent noise and smell) then an "upgrade" to a dated room suffering traffic noise, and to cap it all an office disco until 1am. Complaints to the hotel and Holiday Inn have not been responded to. Stay away, there are much better hotels in the city centre (Leopold Street) where I am writing this from! Can't say which hotel!
