Average at best

Posted 17-Apr-2015
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Room standard and food - meal was poor.
Location: Poor - in the middle of an industrial estate. Sat hav takes you to the goods entrance which is dirty and pretty grim.
Very disappointing. Place is nothing like the pics on website. Our room was in the run down/tired part of the hotel that was very basic and was a rundown room/tired room.

No radiators working, couldn't get wifi, thread bare towels, lamps not working, Lovely bathroom, nice seating area. You would like if you prefer olden style. Not worth the money, we upgraded! Spa area is adequate.

Good hotel

Posted 01-Jan-2015 on Hotels.com
Two night stay just after Christmas - all hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful and issue over bill was resolved immediately. Facilities including swimming pool / spa were not used but room was roomy, well equipped and comfortable. Very convenient for motorway and close to Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield. Overall hotel was good and reasonable value.

First imperssions, lovely hotel,quiet surroungings

Pros: The location.
Cons: There is always room for improvement, especially with the coments I have made above.
Location: The location was good. We were visiting Family and Friends over the Christmas Period.
Crhistmas day Night was fine the room was lovely and warm and plenty of hot water. When we returned to our room on Boxing Day Night there was no heating on at all and when we got up the following morning there was no hot water, so we could not have a shower before we left. When we went down to reception to book out My Husband told the receptionist that we had no heating and no hot water, she was not bothered, not the least bit interested. When we got outside, the car park had not been cleared of the snow, nor had it been gritted. When My Husband went back into the hotel to see if they had a shovel or snow shovel, all they had was a small dustpan so he had to struggle with the dustpan to clear the snow from around the wheels. It took us over and hour to get out of the car park and up the lane. No-one came out to see if we needed any help, we struggled on our own. Will think seriously before booking here again, we come regular to Rotherham as we have Family and Friends who live in and around the area.

Hellaby hall

Posted 02-Dec-2014
Right for start we should have been able to book in a 2pm according to our bookings so we arrived there at 3pm assuming our room would be ready how wrong we where, after a 20min wait (even though the receptionist said it would be 5mins) I went to ask if our room was ready yet she then had to ring house keeping to which they said "o yes it's ready now" so god knows how long we would have been waiting if I haddent have asked, we then got our room key which was supposed to be an excutive king room, we opened to door and yet another surprise there stood two single beds (not quite and excutive king room really is it), so back down I go and say "this isn't the room I payed for ", "really" the receptionist replied, so after another 5min fumble to find us another room we got another room key so off we trot hoping this one was correct, oh and wait we open the door eyes closed and fingers crossed that this is the right room, Ooops again no it wasn't, it was two double beds this time not an executive king room (king sized bed), but by this point I had already lost the will to live so we decided not to bother any more as this farce around had already started to mess around with our evening plans. The less said about the room service the better I wouldn't want to bring tears to anybody's eyes. So all in all HELLaby hall is quite an apt name for the place!
