Budget hotel for business in Swansea

Posted 03-Jul-2014
Pros: Clean and bright.
Cons: Noise from the windows
Location: Convenient for Swansea
Decent hotel overall, but don't settle for a room facing the road - noisy and busy!

Good for doing the Dragon Ride

Posted 16-Jun-2014
Pros: Great, they allowed bikes into the room
Cons: More choice for evening meal, full hotel of cyclists, they could have provided enough food...
Location: n/a

nice hotel pity about the poor sound proofing.

Posted 03-Jun-2014
Pros: Pleasant staff.
Cons: Better sound proofing. Sound from the Fabian Way woke us several times during the night despite having the double-glazed window closed.
Location: The immediate surroundings are unfinished and unattractive and will presumably remain so until the regeneration is completed.
Looking forward to a good night's sleep, but woke by sound of traffic from adjacent Fabian Way.

Quite hotel close to city centre

Posted 20-May-2014
Pros: Friendly, helpful staff.
Cons: Just one suggestion - would have liked bigger towels as the ones in the room are too small to wrap around you but are adequate for drying.
Location: As we were only there overnight we didn't have much opportunity to see the area.
Stayed for one night only as visiting for a funeral. Hotel was situated in a business park but only a 5min drive to the city centre and close to road links to M4. Room was clean and comfortable and very quite.

FAW Youth Final, Liberty Stadium, Swansea

Posted 24-Apr-2014
Pros: A comfortable matress that allowed me to have a good nights sleep.
Cons: The hotel needs to be appraised root and branch as everything needs to be updated and/or improved.
Location: Swansea is a lovely City, with a charm of its own. Well worth the visit. The Liberty Stadium and staff is first class. Premiership by any standard.
Very basic hotel. No comforts in the way of armchairs/loungers. Parking is a lottery, due to large vans parking in a disorderly and inconsiderate manner. There was no space for me to park up therefore the receptionist asked me to park in a disabled bay. The drinks bar was closed abruptly without warning even though we were the only paying customers in there. When I enquired to the night porter as to why last orders was not called, I was shunned and given no explanation. I felt this was offensive and rude.

Hotel situated next to a busy main road

Posted 10-Feb-2014
Pros: We ordered a pizza in the afternoon which was freshly made and absolutely delicious. One of the nicest I have had anywhere. Complements to cook.
Cons: Need more staff as the same person seemed to be doing everything. Need better double glazing especially in bedrooms nearer roadside.
Location: A good location for exploring Swansea marina, the beach and also the town centre , Grand Theatre, and Liberty football stadium.
We arrived at the Ibis at1pm on Saturday 8th February and discovered that one of the two rooms we had booked was not ready. This was a bit inconvenient as we had been told that it would be ready by 12pm.We waited approx 20minutes.There was only one staff member at the desk so she had to multitask(or multifail). She not only had to answer incoming calls but was also trying to sort out our booking arrangements as well as see to other people who had a query!!. Why it should have taken so long to book us in I'll never know. The staff that we spoke to were quite approachable and did try their best. The room was adequate.Bed was comfortable. However we could not sleep because of the constant traffic noise. Definitely need better double glazing.! We were in room 33. My guess is that beds on opposite sides would have been quieter.(Take note if you plan to stay here) The supposed hot breakfast items were all cold or luke warm. We did not eat ours. .We had to ask for bread and milk.
