Literally as centric to everything in the area as one could conceivably get. I only ate breakfast there, but it was top-notch.

Lovely hotel, great for a weekend stay
A really lovely old-fashioned hotel, conveniently located for the town centre and railway station. I was impressed by the size of the room and bathroom, and the fact that the bed was a four-poster, especially given how reasonably priced the room was. Breakfast was very good and all the staff I dealt with were very friendly and helpful.

It was good apart from the fact that our check out was 11 o’clock but at just gone 10 before we had handed our keys in the cleaners were already in our room cleaning

The rooms need a facelift and the hotel says it has free parking available, but the car park is only small and is open to the public. I ended up paying in the multi-storey carpark and carrying everything across town to the hotel.

You get what you pay for
Decor was very confused, it felt like 2 people of very different ages had designed it without consulting one another. It was clean besides on top of the four poster bed, which was thick with dust. Staff are nice enough. The heating situation was not good especially in winter. Those tiny air con type heaters that blow minimal heat and buzz at maximum annoyance didnt help the cold fro. The 2 giant windows. If you want hot water and a tv that you can see without binoculars then pay the extra for somewhere else. Otherwise get a budget room and take the negatives.

Staff very friendly and helpful in all departments. Breakfast fabulous. Lovely hot, powerful shower. Bed very comfortable Room was heated nicely but very dark and light was poor. Decor didn't help as it was brown. Decor in bathroom was a bit tired. Not quite like the photo in the promotional literature. Have stayed before and would stay again.

i regularly stay in the castle when i go back to neath to visit my parents. it’s always good. Nice rooms, nice bar and good food (their new chef started recently) Would recommend

Good stay
Staff were great at the Castle. Breakfast good too. Bed comfy. Didn’t like the shower over the bath would have preferred a separate shower. Nice and central in the town.

Room very clean, well maintained, only fault for me needed a comfortable chair to relax in, mattress needs replacing in my room as you end up in the centre of bed. Good position for a few eating establishments, Market nearby also.

Really great hotel providing for all our needs!
The hotel public areas have been refurbished to a very high standard and look great. Great to see this hotel being refurbished to such a high level. The staff were super helpful and friendly too.

Enjoyable one night stay at an excellent rate
Although I arrived late and left early, I had a very enjoyable night with the four-poster bed extremely comfortable. An excellent buffet breakfast, all at a very reasonable rate. Only problem was the car park that is a bit of a walk for someone needing a hip replacement but there is plenty of parking outside the hotel as long as you leave by 9am.

Outside decoration of building was good. Architecture was interesting and Lady on reception provided me with a brief history of the hotel. When I arrived in the car she gave clear directions to the private hotel car park. Breakfast was to a very good standard and was self service on the day I visited. My only moan was again the TV remote, whose batteries were as dead as a dodo. I reported this to the desk on leaving.

Nice hotel and great staff however when I stayed there was a festival in the town and hotel had a club open until 1 am right below my room, would suggest advising customers if happening again

The staff were very polite and friendly. The room was very nice and the bed very comfortable. The small car park was some distance away and being abused by the public (lashing down with rain)

The Ground floor was very impressive. smart and clean. However the double room was shabby. it needed the paintwork tidying up. When I asked the young barman if he would turn the volume down on the tv in bar he said yes after the football match but he was the only person watching it. I thought that was rather rude. Breakfast was perfect

Good value for money. It’s dated but the room was big and spacious. The heating wasn’t on in my room when I arrived and because it was big took a while to warm up. Nice breakfast. I’d book again.

Fantastic hotel,very clean and tidy and the room was fantastic very large room with plenty of space huge bed which i had the best nights sleep in a long time bathroom very large with a fantastic shower and plenty of tea and coffee in the room which makes a change only downside the tv was very small,overall fantastic hotel will definatly look to make sure thats my first option to stay next time

While this is clearly a old hotel the public spaces were nicely presented and the room, though small, was pleasant enough and good value for £75 a night, The car park is small and a little separate from the hotel which was a little of concern. The bar is open all day and is a pleasant place to be but disappointing that there is no food offered.
