PROS - Check in was quick, staff friendly. Was nice to see Miguel checking us in a year later and still smiling. The pool was refreshing on such a hot day. It needed to be skimmed, but overall refreshing. The staff was very pleasant, when available and the breakfast was ok. Nothing to write home about or yet complain about. Basic waffles, yogurt, variety of breads. The biscuits were a tad dry & gravy was salty, but my son still enjoyed it. It's also good to note that they have a gas BBQ for the hotel guest to use. Which is a nice treat, if we thought of it early enough to plan for it
CONS - Our room card had to be rescanned almost every time we left our room. With 2 cards, one would work some of the times while the other was of no use. On several occasions no one was even at the front desk and the phone on the front desk indicates to "Dial 0" and it rings to the right of the same front desk with no one to answer. My husband was stranded for over 45 minutes outside in the morning waiting for someone to show up at the front desk to rescan the card to allow him back i). Plus, not once were we asked for ID or any proof, but just what room number I was in and they scanned the card again for use. The beds were soft and rather uncomfortable. Rolling to each other in the bed was not the best sleeping arrangements.
Overall I would consider staying at the hotel again for the outdoor pool & the staff friendliness..
Entrance was just a bit hard to find the first time. Hotel located in Park with businesses, other Inns and lots of restaurants and fast food eateries nearby. Very nice staff and clean facilities. Easy freeway access after first time finding.
Quiet room was comfortable.
I was a little frustrated when I asked about extending my stay upon check in and was told I needed to speak with the daytime crew only to be told that I couldn't extend my stay. Had to find somewhere else to go.
To the south and southwest of downtown, this family-friendly region claims some of the city’s greenest pastures. Hayhurst’s 52-acre Alpenrose dairy complex boasts a stadium and a velodrome. Inside the Western-replica town of Dairyville, visitors find a doll museum and opera house, among other venues. Toward downtown, Portland Children’s Museum offers still more activities for the young folk.
