Will go back

Loved it, every thing someone would need or want to have a great coastal outing. Staff was very helpful and nice. When I go to the coast again I will be staying there.

Pros: location, staff, amenities
Cons: clean up the RV area
Location: right in between main part of town of Coos Bay and Charleston, and right across the street from the bay
Old building with some renovations. RV area is very run down. Right off main road so you can hear cars drive by. Location is nice and the staff is friendly. Price is great for a kitchenette.

Out of the way picture shown isn't motel

Posted 05-Aug-2014
Pros: Nothing
Location: Out of the way 12 miles to town
Was very disappointed it was very old and not at all up to date, there was only 3 electrical outlets available in the whole room to use. I called it the "Bates Hotel". Ok place for fisherman that just want a place to sleep

Nice place to stay

Posted 10-Mar-2014
Pros: It was very very clean and provided a place to sleep, which was all that we needed as we were gone all day.
Cons: I know the establishment is older, the word quaint was used to describe it, but the addition of a microwave would be an excellent addition.
Location: Close to the beach for clamming and walking on the beach.
Great place for what we needed, basically a place to sleep because we gone all day. It was very clean, no odd odors. Also had wifi which was nice.

Quaint get-a-way

I loved this motel. It hold memories of visiting this type of motels I stayed in as a child when we had a coast trip. The room was clean, had a nice small kitchenette, and close access to the bay. It is a place I would stay in again and would recommend it to others.

I should have called ahead

Posted 05-Oct-2013
Pros: it was fine.
Cons: Staff could be there.
When I arrived at 10:30 PM, no one was in the office, and it took some time to find someone to let me into the room. No one was there in the morning, so I had to come back in the afternoon and check out. Since it was on the way, the return was not too inconvenient.

Beach is the key word. This is not a resort hotel

Posted 08-Sep-2013
Pros: Homey, helpful, flexible, dog-friendly, walk to beach
Cons: never let pets stay in room without owners
Location: Charleston, buy fish off the boats, eat fish in restaurants, shop in Coos Bay thriftstores, Oregon state parks, beaches
Walk in the pines, on the beach, get help from staff to go crabbing, clamming. That is the beach experience. The fifties décor is fine, kitchens help one eat fresh fish off the Charleston boats. I got to do laundry, walk in the fog with my dog. Beach people will love it.

Big Surprise

Posted 16-Aug-2013
Pros: The clerk was very friendly and helpful--provided a map of the area and pointed out directions to attractions.
Cons: Not sure how to improve here--the place needed a total make-over.
Location: The actual location was farther from attractions than I thought, have to drive about 12 miles to get to shopping, beach, etc.
I used your online service to book this room, and was grateful for the good rates, but was shocked when I actually arrived to find the hotel to be much "older" than I imagined. The desk clerk was curtious, the room was reasonably clean, the kitchenett (though increadibly small) was functional and had basics stocked . . . it was just very 1970's. It didn't look much like what I saw online! The hotel was quite a ways away from Coos Bay and the location was in a run-down part of town. I was disappointed.

keep looking

Posted 23-May-2013
Pros: Location
Cons: My maid service
Location: Close to the charters.
For the price I will stay somewhere else. My bed was never made. Room never cleaned while I was there. The only thing done in my room each day was fresh towels, and one day that wasnt even done.
