if you are looking to compare it to the Wynn or other 5 star luxury hotels, then the Silverton is not for you. This is probably the 10th time I have stayed here and here are a few observations worth noting
1. the Rooms are ok, cleanliness is the most important thing thing and they get an A+ there. the televisions have not been upgraded to flat panel TV's but who goes to Vegas to watch TV in their room. I heard some of the ice machines on each floor were not working but at least the one next to my room is.
2. Pool - during the summer time, the pool is perfect for swimming after 6pm when you don't have the sun's intense rays hitting you. By 6pm, the pool, jacuzzi and cabanas are perfectly under the shade. Here's the negative part, after 5pm there are no longer attendants so depending on what clientele is there at the moment, it can be a free for all. One night we were there, there were plenty of unruly guests who were loud and smoking in the jacuzzi. Having young children, my wife complained inside to one of the casino hosts but nobody from hotel security showed up.
3. Dining - we love the Sundance Grill - their steaks and prime rib are awesome for the price. My in laws were with us and they get 50% off on Senior Mondays. Silverton also opened WuHu Noodle which is pretty good Asian cuisine, definitely more authentic than Panda Express. They had been lacking in the Asian food department and now they have an answer. I would definitely come here again
Good hotel would stay again, great for kids. Loved the lazy river and family atmosphere. One word of caution if you are planning on having more than 2 people in a 1 bedroom suite, make other arrangements. The pullout bed can't be slept on. It was springs with a wrap around them, I wouldn't even let my dog sleep on that. It can't even be considered a sleeping option I've never seen a worse mattress. Also wasn't happy with the restaurant. Sat at the bar for 45 minutes with no service so left. Other than those 2 items very much enjoyed the stay and would stay again. The units were very nice and had everything you needed. Shuttle to the strip was handy as well.
Facility and room in far better condition than the Luxor, where I stayed last time. A bit disorganized with the shuttle - wrong times written down on a couple occasions in only two days. The shuttle driver was not pleasant - complained about his job and even complained about hotel guests after he dropped them off to those of us still in the shuttle.

A bit thrown off by construction, but the staff was so wonderful, went out of their way to make our trip great. Rooms are large and cozy, shuttle to strip every hour. Nice pool. No complaints at all, best hotel of of trip.
According to the Nevada Gaming Association, the Strip's gaming area encompasses all resorts on Las Vegas Boulevard South between Russell Road and Sahara Avenue. The resorts include The Rio and The Palms, as well as smaller ones. Newer resorts such as South Point and the M Resort are about 8 miles away from the Welcome to Las Vegas sign, also part of this area.
