I have stayed at the Palomar several times. The location is convenient. It is close to meeting hotels, the convention center, shopping, and transportation. The hotel restaurant becomes a lively and at times over crowded scene at night, but this hasn't been a problem, even when I've stayed on the same floor. The Kimpton hotel amenities of a glass of wine at 5 pm and morning coffee in the lobby are welcome. It is fun to talk to other hotel guests in the evening or to take a glass of wine to the room and kick back. The staff is accommodating, relaxed and pleasant. I've particularly enjoyed this hotel as a refuge from the press of conference hotels when I've been attending a meeting nearby.
"Very nice hotel, and the rooms are very spacious"
The hotel is conveniently located along many transportation stops, and in Market street which is very central in San Francisco. The two bed room we stayed was very spacious and perfectly accommodated three people. Our room, however, was right by the elevators and therefore we had a lot of noise of people chatting waiting for the elevators, which was not so good. One day we got out of the room at about 11:30 am and when we got back at night our rooms was not cleaned, which was not so good as well. I had to ask the next day for someone to clean up the room.
It has a starbucks below, great to have something in the morning/night, and close to several eating spots (like SAM's which was very nice).
"Good hotel and very close to Market & Powell Sts."
Close to everything that we wanted to access e.g. cable car, trolley car & train station. Good shopping centre next door (Westfield) and some great cafes and restaurants for breakfast and dinner on 5th Street.
