Fantastic family friendly resort in Punta Mita. Every single member of the staff is perfectly trained to anticipate needs and desires, front-desk, pools, beach, cleaning crew, valet parking. The rooms are very good, do not expect flashy, we are talking discrete luxury. We stayed at an ocean front with a magnificent view. The food is simple and excellent. The activities are unique and surprising - for example: local fishermen bring the catch of the day, the chef expertly describes he fish and how it could be cooked and you pick your own fish to eat. We had a superb parrot fish ceviche for lunch! The beach activities are great and mostly included in the rate: boogy boards, kayaks, snorkel gear, and even fishing gear. There are two beaches available: one has bigger waves than the other. The infinity swimming pool is amazing, and what can top cold towels, evian spray, and ice-cream by very nice pool attendants. The "slow river" pool is a relaxing option. In sum: expensive but worth every cent.
"Very cozy place to stay away from the noise of PV"
My wife and I stayed a week at this hotel and enjoyed every day. The food was excellent. The service was truly amazing (Alfredo and Hector in the restaurant, Merciado behind the bar, Moises, all of them).
This was our first experience in Punta de Mita, and my girlfriend and I didn't know what to expect, oh what a great surprise the hotel is located in a imaculate perfect private beach, the suite was very large and expacious soo confortable we wanted to stay longer.
We definately be back soon.
I have stayed at 13 all-inclusives in MX & Punta Cana. This resort was one of if not the BEST. It was myself, husband & 3 YO daughter for 6 nights. 2 bldgs are private owned condos (mostly empty) & rest is the resort. Check-in was ~5 min. Concierge always friendly and helpful (Alexandria). Rooms were clean & spacious. Balcony was huge. We got a rollaway for our daughter w/ no issues.
Food quality was Amazing. No reservations required. We went b/t 6:45 & 8 each night and no wait. Drinks were tasty (ask for top shelf liquor) and good variety. Entertainment & bartenders could have been more personable/friendly. We tipped, very few did.
Pools were nice and cool but need to play MUSIC. We brought our ipod. There were barely enough chairs. Like others said, they are stringent about drinks around the pool. Ocean and sand are rough. We played blackjack, beach volleyball and boogie boards and did hair braiding on the beach.
Kids club was Awesome & 1 reason we picked this resort. There were hourly activities/events & they give a cell phone for peace of mind. Worked out great. Loved Francia.
As it was late, we only watched 1 show (Circus), it was pretty good. I have seen at other resorts that having the show away from the main lobby area tends to reduce attendance. People get settled after dinner & don’t want to move. Riu resorts have this figured out & get good participation.
GREAT RESORT. Family/couple oriented / Quiet. Don’t look to party-harty here.
"We have been to Marival before and LOVED our time."
Unfortunately they were renovating so 2-3 restaurants were closed which was disappointing. But there were plenty of others and the choices and quality were the same - fabulous. Staff are amazing and always busy keeping the place clean and tidy. Very family orientated - its wonderful to see and experience.
I would like to see Expedia add an advisory to hotels etc that are renovating or have changed ownership or similar big changes to help travellers make better decisions.
This was our second stay at estancia...we are looking forward to the next!!. The staff were excellent with many recommendations both on and off the property. Felix the pool concierge was a true joy and looked after us every day. The rooms were spacious balconies even more so. We highly recommend this property to individuals looking for a quiet get away
Located in Nuevo Vallarta on the shores of Banderas Bay, this hotel is a 2 km (about 1 mi) stroll on the beach from …More
A beautiful resort... the staff was wonderful, well-appointed spacious suite, food was fabulous. Highly recommend the Mexican restaurant... be sure to try a "sexy coffee" after dinner. We will go back!
Great hotel, great staff, great surf. Went with a group of 10 20-30 year olds some couples, some singles. The facility isn't brand new but the rooms were great, there were tons of things to do, the surf(early November) was pretty consistent and good for both beginners and intermediate/good surfers. Drinks were good and plentiful and the food was great, especially the main buffet. Would do it again in a second.
