“Beautiful views of Vesuvius and Naples!”
This is a charming hotel on the windy narrow road along the Pamphili coast. We had a car, which made it easy (yet interesting!) to visit the lovely nearby towns: Sorrento, Capri, Pompeii. All highly recommend! The vies and breakfast on the veranda were amazing!
“Our second time was as good as the first.”
The Torre Barbara is a gem along the Bay of Naples. My partner and I booked a six night stay recently and it was as good as the first stay 3 years ago. Hip, friendly sraff, clean rooms and well kept grounds. I am constantly raving and recommending the Torre Barbara.
“So helpful ...............”
Actually situated on the outskirts of Seiano, the train stop after Vico Equense, Torre Barbara stands high above the bay with great panoramic views. Guests would do well to get off at Seiano station and call the hotel for its courtesy bus as taxis are expensive and to walk [with or without luggage] takes over 30 mins and is pretty strenuous / largely without footpath. The hotel itself is based around a converted tower and is picturesque. The conversion has been done to a very high standard and is quite imaginative with some rooms having an "upstairs / mezzanine" bedroom. Everything is kept very clean, the staff are extremely helpful. We didn't have time to "eat in", so cannot comment on the restaurant other than to say that there is an acceptable menu and the promise of flexibility if you have particular requirements. Breakfast was adequate but the choice is limited. For the evenings there are a number of super restaurants within easy reach by courtesy bus.
“not impressed”
although the hotel was very nicely situated on a bluff overlooking the Sea, our room was in the basement, below ground level. We didnt expect a "great" sea view, but with the gardens, we expected "some" view, we had no windows as we were below street level. might as well stay at a hotel off the water with windows.
“Jewel of the Sorrentina Penisola”
My wife and I loved the Torre Barbara. It is a welcome oasis among the hustle and bustle that is the Amalfi Coast. The location is perfect, with gorgeous views of Mt. Vesuvius across the bay of Naples. The hotel itself is beautiful, the rooms are among the more spacious you will find in Europe, and the overall feel of the place is of relaxed elegance. The staff are attentive to a fault, and are extremely friendly and helpful. We loved it here so much, that we came back a second time during our month long stay in Italy. If you are travelling to the Amalfi Coast, don't miss this place!!!
“Helpful, friendly, pleasant staff”
The staff here are all really helpful and courteous. You have free access to use the internet, handy if you are travelling onwards. The set menu available in the evening is very good although limited and the wine was excellent. We did not have a car. Noting this the receptionist provided us with a leaflet with the times of the local trains and buses to various locations. The hotel will book a bus, if required, for Naples airport which leaves from the street outside the hotel. it is also clean and comfortable. I would go back here again.
“Great place for an inexpensive and very good room”
Was a wonderful surprise - great view from the terrace - enjoy the sunsets and breakfasts. The dinner at 15 euros was wonderful - even if the choices were limited. The staff was wonderful and very helpful.
“Would return often”
The views are wonderful, service friendly and the free shuttle service into Vico Equense for dinner etc. an invaluable service.
“We Were All Extremely Satisfied with Torre Barbara”
From the minute we arrived until the final good-bye, Torre Barbara fulfilled our highest expectations. We count on Expedia to find the finest places to stay and this was no exception. Torre Barbara is beautiful, comfortable and the service was superb. Everything you would want in a get away from it all place and more. Spectacular views and delicious meals, too. Rate this one top notch!
“Excellent Hotel”
The staff was knowledgeable and friendly, the complimentary breakfast was outstanding and the hotel in general was very clean and tidy. The bed might have been more comfortable but the room was clean and the decor modern and up to date. We stayed in hotels in the area that were much pricier than Torre Barbara but they did not compete with the service (and especially breakfast) we were offered here. The hotel felt charming and was not overrun with tour groups. It offered a quiet and relaxing stay and exceeded our expectations.
