“Nice family run hotel and cooking school”

Typically Italian Hotel (i.e. laid back and relaxed atmosphere), the rooms are clean, comfortable basic rooms. The hotel is perfect for people such as my husband and I who were looking to visit all the sites (i.e. Pompeii, Sorrento, Amalfi Coast, Naples, Herculaneum), and just needing somewhere to sleep and shower, as there is no TV or tea/coffee facilities in the rooms, but a good continental breakfast is provided to get you on your way each morning. The bus stop is outside the hotel, and the train station is a short 10 minute walk. The hotel is run by the family members who are all very friendly and helpful. You can through the hotel go on a boat trip to, and around, the island of Capri, which we found to be a superb day, giving great value for money. Our double room was a spacious room on the roof of the hotel, which gave a wonderful view of Vesuvius in the distance. One pointer would be that if you are going to be arriving after 9.30pm that you arrange with the hotel for collection of your room key, as there is quite often no one on reception after then. Regretfully we were always out and about so never dined at the hotel in the evening, but as it is also a well recommended Italian Cookery School, many people did dine together each evening. We would definitely stay here again, and would certainly recommend it to anyone looking to stay there as a base.

Mami Camillas was outstanding and outshone all our other accommodation in Italy. The breakfast was lavish and varied, the service exceptional. Dinner was served every evening, 4 courses of delicious cordon bleu food cooked that day by cordon bleu and student chefs. We were introduced to the other guests and made many new friends. It was a short walk to Sorrento and five minutes to the San agnello beach. The room was spacious and spotless. We could not recommend this place more highly.

Old style comfort with no pretensions One felt right at home in the middle of what to us was a foreign city Staff was extremely helpful without being condescending The only complaint would be the lackluster parking if one is driving but the hotel can not be faulted for that

Really interesting place - pension style more than a hotel. The people are lovely and the atmosphere is very relaxing and friendly. It's easy to get to, and close to St Agnello station and walking distance of Sorrento. The food is good and the prices are reasonable. If you're wanting a holiday at Sorrento but without the high cost and the press of people go to Mami Camilla

“Peaceful Location with Character”

Located an easy 1/2 hour walk or short bus ride to the centre of Sorrento, this was a wonderful place for us. Mami Camilla doubles as a small cooking school, so we were able to try some very interesting dishes. Also a short walk (10 minutes) to the train station, which took us directly to the entrance of the ruins of Pompeii. Great value for us.
