“Lovely hotel in a great location”
From the moment my husband and I entered through the hotel door we knew our stay would be happy and comfortable. The ladies at the front desk were always very helpful, the rooms were very clean, and nicely decorated, and the location is great! The hotel is the center of Sorrento, but because it is situated on a narrow side street it doesn't get that constant tourist traffic. The rooms are comfortable, with the exception of the firm mattress which seems to be a common feature in Italian hotels, although my husband found the bed to be very comfortable. I would definitely recommend the hotel and will stay there again. It's only a 10 minute walk from the Circumvesuviana train station.
“Nice Hotel.......in good location”
My husband and I stayed there for 3 days in September. The hotel is a good central location with easy access to the train/bus station, ferries, restaurants, shopping, etc.... The view from the rooftop is just beautiful. The staff was very nice and the hotel was clean. The breakfast was very typical of a European breakfast....we always found something to eat....don't expect an American style breakfast because you are not in the United States. The only negative is which someone also noted in their review is the noise level is loud on the weekends. There is a bar down the street and the band started playing at 11pm. That kept us up til they quit playing. Earplugs really didn't help. We could also hear people coming back to their rooms. If they were loud, you'll be sure to hear them. The hallways are marble tile and you hear everything. There is also a restaurant located directly downstairs in the alley where our room overlooked and you can hear the noise of dishes and people talking. This is really a quaint little hotel, just be prepared for noise on the weekends.
“GREAT LOCATION!”
This small gem just off the main square was a real find. The pool and lounge on the roof were a added plus. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and helpful when planning tour options.
“Roof top pool”
Very nice location. Roof top pool is a plus
“Highly recommend”
My fiance and I stayed at this hotel at the recommendation of a family member. The hotel is in a perfect location with easy access to the bus/train station, restaurants, ferries, and beautiful sea views. The hotel was immaculate and staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rooftop pool deck and bar was a perfect way to end a busy day of sightseeing.
“Great Location.......”
The hotel is located on a small street that cars can not travel on. The street is in between piazza antonino and piazza tasso. The staff was very nice. One young lady, who worked from 2 pm till 10pm usually, when we were there was extriemly nice and helpful. She was always willing to answer all of our questions, whether they were in English, Italian, or even Sicilian!!!!
“Not what was expected but satisfactory”
I booked this hotel for my honeymoon after reading reviews about most of the hotels in Sorrento. This hotel scored very highly so I was excited to go there. I was however a bit disappointed. The hotel is clean, well presented, staff courteous but the room did smell of damp. The lock on the bathroom door was broken but was fixed within 5 minutes of reporting it so no faults there. Breakfast was a bit of a let down - unless you liked cake and the waiter really does need to shower or wash his clothes a bit more frequently. My main gripe was the noise each night from the Fruit Bar opposite. This went on until the early hours and was a surprise to us. That said the hotel couldnt be more central to the town which is what we wanted and was next to a great restaurant - The Basilica - try the fish mixed grill - unbeatable with other great restaurants on the door step. Would I recommend to others - yes. Would I return - probably not . One to watch for if arriving by train. Expect the taxi driver to rip you off!! Cost 20 euros but found the hotel to be a five minute walk downhill!
“lovely lodging”
Perhaps not easy to find as it is on a pedestrian road, Palazzo Guardati was perfect home for our stay in Sorrento. Staff was friendly and courteous, breakfast ample, room's large and comfortable. Very convenient location. Rooftop lounge was enjoyable with great views.
“Good hotel in a good location”
The Palazzo Guardati was a pleasant surprise, when we eventually found it, the entrance is tucked away down a small side street. Staff on check in were very helpful and the room was larger than expected if a little dark although we did not pay extra for a room with a view. Everywhere was exceptionally clean, good size modern bathroom with a decent shower. Breakfast was fine but a shame the breakfast room is located in the basement, it felt a little austere but the quality and selection of food was good. The hotel has a lovely sundeck with good views of Sorrento and the hotel is in an excellent location, right in the heart of things. No need to get a taxi from the train station unless you have a lot of bags, we walked it in less than five minutes. Very good overall.
“Great location for sight-seeing, though not for view.”
Palazzo Guardati is a well-appointed small hotel on a narrow lane just off the main Tasso square. Steps down to the ferry terminal are just around the corner, and it is an easy walk to the train station. Service was very friendly and helpful. There is no view from the rooms, but there is a fairly nice one from the rooftop terrace. When we were there in early May there was no bar service on the rooftop, but this may change during the peak tourist season. We really enjoyed the convenient location and comfort of this hotel, but those wanting a smashing view should go elsewhere. Reasonably priced.
