“Good for the money”

Great staff, lovely airy and cool rooms, good position near the beach and also close to the main road for buses and the train station, pool was nice .. a good basic hotel for the cheap price we paid. Only negatives would be the food. We didn't eat dinner there but gathered that it wasn't much cop and also the breakfast was adequate but not the greatest choice and the same every single morning. The single biggest problem though was that they had live singing and music almost every other night till 12pm. Probably not a problem for most but with 2 young children we were in bed most nights by 10pm. The hotel were excellent though and most helpful and moved us from the 2nd to teh 4th floor after the first nights. It was a little quieter but you could still hear it quite clearly.

Area recommendations
Sant Agnello is great as its a good base to get around but if you want pictureesque then it has to be Positano.
Dining
Some great local restarants in Sant Agnello, we liked Moonlight and very cheap but good pizza and chicken at Da Peppino

“good value”

I chose the Majestic Place for its location, which is not in the centre of Sorrento. We both enjoyed the walk into town but the roads can be dangerous due to the narrow footpaths. The hotel itself is good value for the amount we paid through expedia. Early booking recommended. The staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The views from our 4th floor room were spectacular overlooking the Bay of Naples. In its heyday the hotel would surely have been rated 5 star. Presently some areas are in need of a little refurb. In all a good choice and we would have no problem stopping there again. Jand J, Leeds, UK.

“nice hotel”

a good location if you are into traveling in the surrounding. The staff is great. It is a very comfortable hotel - not much more than that.

Getting around
You can park the car in the street near the hotel if you buy parking tickets. They cost 3 e for 5 hours and you'll need 2 of them per day. The train station is very close and traveling to Pompeii or Naples is much easier by train than by car. Walking to Sorrento takes about 20 minutes.

“Not great large rooms but not very clean anywhere. I wouldn't consider hotel this 4 stars.”

I didn't love this hotel and certainly wouldn't go back. I watched the carpet in the hall outside our room to see how dirty it needed to be before they would vacuum it. The room was not clean to the standard I am used to in a 4 star hotel. The location was fine short walk to the water a ways from town (which we knew prior to booking and fine with) but they had a shuttle for part of the time we were there but it was shut down for part of the time as well. All in all not my idea of a nice hotel I would rate this more a 3 star.

Getting there
If you take the train from Naples to Sorrento get off at the stop before Sorrento (Santa Angello sp?) it puts you off about 6 blocks from the hotel so you can save yourself a 25E taxi ride. The train was also great for getting to Pompeii.

“Loved It”

We loved this hotel and it's charming feel. The pool was wonderful after a hot day at Pompeii and sightseeing. The breakfast was just ok, but the room and views were wonderful, and far made up for breakfast. If you are taking the Circumvesuviana to get to the hotel, be sure to get off at St. Agnello; don't ride all the way to Sorrento. It is a good walk to get to Sorrento, but we did not mind it. You won't want to carry luggage that far, though. We will come back here again if we are fortunate enough to return to Italy.

Traveller's tip
Buy your souvenirs here. We went to Florence and Venice after Sorrento, and things were much more expensive in those cities than in Sorrento.

“Very Nice Hotel”

If you want to enjoy and relax, this is for you. The hotel is quiet, clean and walking distance from downtown Sorrento (1.5 km) and the Sant'Agnello Circumvesuviano train station (0.6 km). Great breakfast, nice pool, public beach at less than 500 m. Hotel staff very helpful. Not a single complain.

“Nice small-town experience”

We stayed here in late May. Our room had impressive views of the sea and Mt. Vesuvius and the peaceful (if not overly healthy looking) orange grove in back. The staff was very friendly and helpful in terms of power adapters, towels and food accomodations. Our room was rather spacious and kept clean, though it was a little irritating during the hot nights that the air conditioning did not turn on until June 1. Hotel is a 10 minute walk from the Circumvesuviana train, which is convenient to Pompeii and Naples. Sorrento is a short bus or train ride or a long walk away. Several good and reasonably-priced restaurants near the hotel.

“Would return”

The hotel was old world charming with new world updates. Our view was fabulous. Located within a nice walk to the center of town. Tree shaded and charming. Would return.

Traveller's tip
Be sure to visit Capri and AnnaCapri. Use the SNAV for your trip over. Visit all the little shops in Sorrento.

“Excellent rapport qualité/prix. TBconfort et TB situation.”

Quartier calme de Sant Agnello. La navette aéroport vous dépose et reprend à 500m de l'hotel, près de la gare (pour aller à Pompéi par exemple). Les navettes bus pour toutes les dessertes et notamment Sorrente sont à 200m de l'hotel et sont toutes les 20mn. Donc excellente situation au plan transport. Restaurant à signaler qui domine la mer et tout le golfe à 200 m de l'hotel, à des prix très raisonnables.

Traveller's tip
De magnifiques visites à faire seuls, sans passer par les organisateurs de voyages locaux proposés par les hotels. Acheter soi-même ses billets aux guichets. Prix divisés par 3 ou 4. Ne pas manquer une visite de Pompéi, Capri, de Sorrente et surtout son petit port de pêche excentré, et faire la balade en mer au départ de Sorrente qui vous fait découvrir tout le golfe, Capri(baignade),Positano, puis Amalfi avec promenade de 2 heures dans le village.
