“Great location, Fab hotel”

This Hotel is in the perfect loaction for exploring the area. Turn left out of Hotel and you are a 5 minute walk from town where you can get Bus and Trains..also small shops bars and resturants, turn right and you are 10 minutes from the stunning clifftop where there is a square and again resturants and beach with an amazing view out to sea. Public transport is so easy to get into Sorento but also if you feel energetic its a 25-30 minute walk ( although along a busy main road with narrow pavements, so I would not recomend if you have small children) Trips are available from Sorento, the Hydrofoil to Capri or take a bus to Amalfi...You get to experience the Famous Amalfi drive and its just as good on the bus! 7euro for a full day bus pass to get on and off where you please. The bus stop to and from Naples airport is in the town and 10 euro each way and very reliable.Bus and train tickets are available from the hotel but are double the normal rate so buy them from the tabaconist or train station.Everyone speaks good english if your Italian is not good! The Hotel and staff are lovely. We ate in Hotel one evening twas good, but so many resturants to try its a shame to not to experiment! Breakfast was plentiful and lots of choice. Perfect location in a perfect place..We loved it!

“Great base for exploring”

Friendly and very helpful staff, easy access to the local railways and bus network. Great buffet breakfast, good size swimming pool. One side of the hotel is a tad noisy from the road traffic but the room is quiet when the doors are closed. A great local resturant back up the road toward the station does great cheap food, Sausage and chip pizza is a real winner so to the half a chicken!!

“Delightful Hotel”

We have just returned from a week's half-board at the Alpha in Sant'Agnello. As a middle-aged couple, we found the Alpha perfectly situated less than 2km from Sorrento, which makes it an ideal location to return to after a day's sight-seeing. Buffet breakfast is extensive, and you are guaranteed a lovely dinner, with beautifully cooked and prepared food, and wide choice of menus. The charming head waiter and his busy team keep a discreet attendance on you, and the atmosphere is relaxed and unhurried. Saturday is Gala dinner night, with Italian music, and there is live music on other nights, never so loud as to spoil your enjoyment of your meal. The hotel staff are consistently helpful, all speaking English of course (shame on us!). The pool is set in a lovely garden at the front of the hotel, your privacy guaranteed by surrounding fruit trees. When we return to the area, we will want to stay at the Alpha again.

“friendly and convenient”

Hotel is excellent if you dont want to be in the middle of a very dusty and crowded Sorrento. It is in a quiet position, but very close to the circumvesuviana railway which takes you anywhere including Naples, Pompeii, Herculaneum, etc, for very little cost. Not many eating places but Sorrento is 20 mins walk or a quick trip on the train. (3 mins). Friendly, clean and lovely rooms. Small swimming pool in part shade and part sunshine. Excellent value

“excellent hotel near Sorrento, brillant for vegetarians”

Lovely hotel in a quiet area, but walking distance from the station, connecting with Naples(dirty and disappointingbut worth visitng for the frescoes in the Archeological Museum from Herculaneum), Pompei(interesting by very large site, got lost!), Herculaneum(brilliant!). Vesuvius we did by coach(last climb very arduous but I made it!) and the Amalfi coast too(sit on the right if you can or at the back)booked through the hotel(Goldentours:very good). Reception very helpful, Salvatore in the restaurant made my holiday by making catering for a vegetarian very easy:good menu for half board, 5 choices for 1st and 2nd course every night+lovely desserts. Only complaints, matresses were very uncomfortable(?old?), the surly porter on arrival:he was very rude when we couldn't work out the safe in the room! and that the hand towels in the room are more like tea towels! but all in all, very pleased with this hotel and would recommend.

“One of the best Hotels we have stayed in....”

The Hotel was perfect in nearly every way possible. All the Staff were excellant in the way they handled your needs/questions/requests etc., from the Reception, Restaurant, Bar, Pool and Room service !!!! If the four of us were going back to Sorrento then it would have to be to the Hotel Alpha. Very many thanks to all the staff.

“Fabulous Sorrento”

We had a fantastic 10 days in the Sorrento region. The hotel is as pictured. The Gardens surrounding the property were beautiful, the staff friendly and very helpful. Hotel Alpha was conveniently located - out of the hustle and bustle of downtown Sorrento, but close enough to walk. The train - by far the easisest and least expensive way to get around the many many attractions on the Bay of Naples (Pompeii, Herculaneum, Oplontis, Stabiae, etc) was a five minute walk. Form Sorrento buses to all locations down the coast could be found, as well as boats to Naples and the islands, Capri, Ischia, Procida. I would definitely recommend Alpha and would happily return.

“Surprising find”

The Alpha hotel is located in a suburban street just off the St Agnello town centre and the bright, clean tree lined path welcomes the first time visitor. The hotel is small and friendly. Service is good and the staff polite and willing to help. Local transport is brilliant provided you wish to visit the local attractions. We found the hotel relaxing, the food excellent and the service good. It was a shame about the ants in the bathroom but I really believe we were just unlucky - the hotel was otherwise spotless.

“Hotel Alpha”

We had a really pleasant stay at the Hotel Alpha... all staff were really friendly and helpful and breakfasts were open buffet and plentiful! They provided an information board that gave us all we needed to plan our trips by bus and rail. Sight seeing was the main aim of our holiday. The hotel itself is based on the outskirts of the hustle and bustle of Sorrento so not quite so noisy. Sorrento is an excellent base for site seeing - Vesuvius, Pompei, Amalfi, Capri. All in all a really good stay and very interesting.
