Superb hotel in a quiet area.

Posted 26-Apr-2015
Pros: It provided everything that we hoped for to a high standard.
Cons: The hotel dinner menu should have been more flexible.
Location: The hotel is located five minutes walk from the bus station giving us convenient access to the excellent coach tours of the region.
A comfortable hotel within easy reach of the town's amenities. Friendly and helpful staff.

Great location and wonderful staff!

Posted 19-Apr-2015
Pros: - accommodating staff, warm and engaging - beautiful decor - great location - very comfortable beds - stunning sea views from our balcony
Cons: - carpeting the floors/better sound-proofing - fix the toilet - bigger swimming pool - better staffing for roof top area
Location: Easily accessible for whole of the Amalfi Coast. Sorrento itself is also really lovely to walk around too.
I traveled with my partner and 12 year old son. Lovely hotel in a great location. Staff were amazing especially Giusy who served us eggs at breakfast, Domenico the bar man, Flora the bar maid and Annalisa on reception. We had a balcony view room with stunning views of the sea. The food was excellent as was the selection of drinks. The dining room was stunning as is the reception area with a quiet, sofa area in reception next to a bookshelf and plenty of books, the latter being a lovely space when I needed some quiet time. The roof top bar area was great with a lovely swimming pool, albeit that the pool was really too small to swim in properly. We arrived on a Saturday - the hotel is located near a football pitch where there seemed to be a tournament the whole weekend. This was incredibly noisy with tannoy announcements etc.. Not the hotel's fault but just something to bear in mind. The hotel is only a 5 min walk from Sorrento train station with easy access by train to Pompeii, Ercolano and Naples via the Circumvesuviana train line. The hotel is also near an orange/lemon grove which is simply beautiful - and you can sample the freshly made limoncello there before purchase. There is also a school quite near the hotel but not too noisy, especially as you would tend to be out during the day when the children are in the playground. The other thing to mention is that because the floors are tiled and not carpeted, there is less sound-proofing so a lot of surrounding noise is heard.

Excellent hotel Ideally situated

Posted 18-Apr-2015
Pros: Everything but especially the service
Location: The location was perfect for accessing transport to all the main sites/tourist attractions.% to 0 mins from train and coaches and same to old town.
First class hotel situated 5 to 10 minutes walk from the train and coach stations which makes visits to all the main attractions Pompeii Herculanoum Versuvius,Naples,Amalfi coast so easy .The walk there was made more pleasuable as you can walk through a lemon grove - great start to the day. The hotel staff were delightful .reception staff were helpful and very informative.Restaurant staff were friendly and very efficient. You were treated as a special guest. We only had breakfast which was excellent and very varied. We upgraded to get a seaview and would recommend that. The room was lovely and bright.

Ideal location for the independent Traveller

Posted 12-Apr-2015
Pros: Lovely authentic Italian hotel. The staff were vey attentive and friendly, Location.
Location: In a quiet road 10 minutes walk from the train station away from the old town more of a residential area, so not so touristy.
We arrived before check in time and our room was ready so the porter helped us to our room and showed us how the electric and blinds worked etc. Our room was spacious plenty of wardrobe space and drawers, We were on B&B but decided to eat in the hotel restaurant that night as they had a special Easter menu at a reasonable price. The food was delicious and the restaurant had a nice atmosphere and the staff were very attentive, we didn't eat there again as we like to try the local restaurants. There is a lovely roof top sun terrace and small pool and a bar with lovely views but we only used once because of the weather and there is also large pool and sunbeds at ground level as well. No tea making facilities in the room so take your own kettle if you like to have drink in your room. Breakfast was lovely, most of what you would expect and a selection of hot food, best poached eggs I've had abroad. Reception staff all helpful and friendly. There is a snack bar and lovely garden but we never used as we were out everyday. The hotel is beautifully decorated, clean and traditional.

excellent garden with shaded area for breakfast

Posted 06-Mar-2015
Pros: Relaxed environment, very clean and music provided in the lounge. Ideal for those of us that want peace and quiet without young children.
Cons: Need a bigger TV set in the lounge.
Location: Quiet location and just a stroll to the Corsa where it all happens. Also the 'Drains'.
Reception, bar staff and especially dining staff were always courteous. Food excellent and a good choice.

Loved Sorrento!

Posted 30-Nov-2014
Pros: Best continental breakfast of anywhere we stayed in Italy and great rooftop pool/deck/bar with distant view of Mount Vesuvius were the best!
Cons: All was quite comfortable and excellent value for price.
Location: We enjoyed Sorrento and felt less touristy than Amalfi coast. Great walking area and day trips to Pompeii, Capri
This hotel was one of the best in our month-long trip to Italy. Very comfortable, close to everything - town, ferry, train, but not noisy or crowded area. Great for walking. The staff at the hotel were always helpful and friendly. In addition to great breakfast and view of Mt Vesuvius, the hotel was visitor-friendly with retractable clothesline in the bathtub, much appreciated! Also two pools, one good for laps, which is always nice.
