“Beautiful Views”
My wife and I stayed in a prestige room on the top floor with stunning views over the bay with Vesuvius looming in the background. Staff were attentive and polite. We were guests at the hotel at the end of the season, so there was quite a high staff to guest ratio which suited us. The hotel is situated about a 5 minute walk from the centre of Sorrento. This was also good because you are then seperate from a bit of the hustle and bustle but close enough to indulge in the many good restaurants in town or buy tat from the myriad of tourist shops.
“If you want to feel spoilt, then stay at this hotel.”
The hotel was located within walking reach of the main centre but also offered spectacular views across Sorrento and the bay of Naples, I would highly recommend for anyone wishing to have a relaxing stay this is the place, the hotel is immaculate, the service second to none, and you will feel thoroughly spoilt.
“Lovely Hotel - but watch the extras!”
The hotel was recommended by a friend and I have to say, generally we were very pleased. The staff were very helpful and pleasant, and we have had a very nice holiday. I would say the only disappointment was the cost of extras. There is a safe in the rooms but you have to pay 3.50 a day to use it. Wi-fi is free in many places but the hotel charges for this. The hotel also offers a number of excursions. It is so much cheaper and not difficult to sort these for yourself. Hotel evening meals are also a little expensive. We found a fantastic bar/restaurant on the main square. All in all the hotel is very nice. We would recommend it and would definately choose it again, but be warned and a little adventurous, and you'll love Sorrento.
“Spectacular views”
Great views, good service, little out of town. Pool area very impressive.
“Not a Luxury Hotel”
A very disappointing experience - this is not a luxury hotel. The deluxe rooms were full of scuff marks and the bathroom ceilings covered in mould. the entrance to the lift area of the deluxe rooms was damp and musty. Service by the waiting staff at breakfast and the evening was poor and not what would be expected from a luxury hotel. Very expensive for a mediocre hotel.
“Beautiful pool and great location”
I would def recommend this hotel - we booked the basic room and got a huge room with a dressing area, balcony and sea view, the pool area is large with lots of room and sunbeds, there are several levels of small pools, plus a larger pool with hydrojets, so you can almost always have a pool to yourself, lunch at the pool is inexpensive and has beautiful views across Sorrento and the sea and it was less than a 10 min walk into Sorrento shops and restaurants. You do need to pay a little extra for the safe (we didn't know before we went), breakfast is fab - lots of choice and has an amazing view too. Lots to do in the area - Capri is a 20 min ferry ride away, you can go on the public bus to along the Amalfi coast, plus you can go to Pompeii and Vesuvius...or just lie by the pool. Really would recommend this holiday!
“Excellent Hotel Impressive”
The Grand Hotel Capodimonte is an impressive Hotel with an Excellent Location within 10 mins walking to P Tasso square in the heart of sorrento town where you can sit and drink /eat watching the world go by. Staff are helpful happy and rooms are lovely, clean and 4 * plus. A testement to the Hotel would be that we have been to the Hotel over the years 16 times and have many Happy memories.
“Stellar all around”
Happened upon this hotel by chance after Residence Rossana cancelled at last minute (bad!) but luck placed me at Capodimonte. Beautiful accommodations, wonderful multi-lingual staff, awesome breakfast buffet, breathtaking pool and you can walk to everything. I cannot say enough superlatives about Capodimonte.
“Fantastic”
Brilliant hotel, fantastic staff, will be back soon
“Excellent choice. Would certainly go back.”
Very impressed with this hotel and would certainly recommend it. The room was big compared to other hotels which I have booked through Expedia and the service was pleasant and courteous. It is also within walking distance to the town and about 10 to 15 minutes walk to the station. Very satisfied in every aspect.
