“Nice getaway without kids!”
Loved this cottage style hotel very close to downtown Sonoma square! Loved the complimentary happy hour & morning breakfast. Great staff with great dinner recommendation & advice. The saddles restaurant & bar were a nice addition to location. We had dinner downtown both nights & really enjoyed our dinners. We drove north through wine country & this was a great location & retreat to come back to. Loved Coppola winery & had a great lunch at dry creek general store. Great sandwiches! We would come back! Thanks
“Price not worth the stay”
After a day of wine tasting, we arrived around dinner and checked in. Our check in was cookie cutter, nothing too friendly or welcoming, but the lobby smelled delicious, and they were helpful in suggesting a dinner location. Champagne arrived as we stepped in our room which made for a nice nightcap after our delicious meal. The property has lots of charm and the grounds are very lush and green. Our room was nice, the bed was comfy, but I was a bit surprised that there was no bathtub. Although the hot tub/pool was close to our room, it could use a little paint/maintenance and held me back from taking a dip. What surprised me the most was the noise of the room above. Not pleasant. The breakfast included in the morning was nothing to brag about, although we did choose not to pay any extra for additional items. Overall, because our main purpose for our visit was touring wine country we did not spend much time at the hotel which included with the other factors, did not meet our expectations according to the price paid. Next time we will stay somewhere else and spend more of our lodging fees on wine =)
“Would definitely go back”
The hotel surpassed our expectations. The staff was very attentive and friendly. We walked to the Sonoma square several times (<20 min walk) and also biked around the surrounding neighborhood. We stayed in the Manor House so it was a modest room, but very well appointed and extremely quiet. We enjoyed the gardens, pool, and spa services. In hindsight, i'm glad it was several blocks from the square because it was much less congested in a quiet neighborhood. The homes nearby were immaculately maintained. The evening wine tastings were nice too. The hot tub was "so-so", but overall, our accomodations and service couldn't have been better. We will definitely go back in the future.
“Lovely rooms”
Great location, beautiful grounds within walking distance to the square and shopping. We enjoyed our stay in Sonoma and can't wait to go back next year.
“Great overall experience”
Beautiful landscaping. Friendly, helpful staff. Convenient location. Jets in hot tub not working but not a big deal.
“Relaxing and romantic retreat”
Extremely nice and affordable hotel with unique setting. The rooms are very spacious and extremely comfortable and private.
“Great Getaway”
Great rooms; very romantic gardens. Have a picnic in the garden or your room; you might be able to find some good cheese and wine nearby somewhere. Good local options, don't bother with the restaurant (it may be too crowded, and nothing special).
“Best place to stay in Sonoma”
Very quiet, close to the square. Charming atmosphere. Will stay here again when visiting Sonoma.
“Very nice stay”
The hotel was very pleasant. Personnel very cooperative. Since the weather was rainy and overcast, it was noce to have a fireplace and movies. Overall very relaxing experience and we would come back.
“Nice hotel, poor customer service”
This hotel is nice and it is in a good location. However, we had booked a King guest room and were put in a Queen guest room. When we entered our room and discovered the mistake we called the front desk to inform them of the mistake and were told they would "get back to us." A full hour later they called us to tell us we could move to the right room. By then, we had settled in and didn't feel like moving, so they offered us a bottle of champagne. That was a nice gesture, but they never gave it to us. I was suprised about the poor service given the caliber of hotel and its location.
