A very friendly, welcoming & laid back hotel. Room excellent.with enormous and most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in and bathroom spotless with a great walk in shower. Set in a very peaceful location - it was just what we wanted.
A very old building of immense character more than makes up for it not conforming to a modern stereotype hotel. The most friendly and helpful reception were the best anywhere. Home made food, wonderful.
Worth staying here just for the friendly, cosy atmosphere.

It is a nice hotel, situated in the centre of Glastonbury. We had a nice, large, comfortable room at the front of the building, with views of both the Abbey and the Tor. The breakfast was very nice and there was a varied menu to choose from. The hotel is within walking distance of everything Glastonbury has to offer so was perfect for us.

Loved this hotel, will use again and again.
There is ample car parking, its close to Glastonbury (and an easy drive there).
You have to check in between certain times, however once checked in you have a key to come and go as you please. (Check out is after 7:30 to 11:00).
Room was very spacious and loved the room, my only common would be that our bath tub could use replacement (avoided it and used the shower). Bed comfy. TV and Desk good.
Hotel staff were very nice. Accommendated our request to check out early and edit breakfast slightly.
Breakfast was good. Good, quality food that is ordered and cooked for you. Ask (and got) extras.

It was good to stay in a hotel which is different to the more modern spa hotels where all the rooms are the same.
The staff are keen to assist in any way they can. The receptionist remembered my name and staff in the restaurant had the knack of being there when needed and somewhere else when not. The restauant may not be to everyone's taste. It seeks to be high cuisine which means the food is very good but the portions, whilst adequate, may seem a bit small to some. It is also expensive. However, unusually for this type of restaurant there are some reasonably priced wines available. I would recommend that guests try the restauant at least once but if you prefer something more homely there is a really good pub about 200 yards away with a thatched roof, cask ales and the home baked pies are just brilliant.
Breakfast at this hotel is teriffic. Its not the usual buffet available in most hotels anywhere on the planet - you order what you want and they prepare it fresh. Try the porridge - its great - actually, so are the muffins and eggs, - and the salmon - and the full English and the coffee - they even get the toast right!
The spa is very good. It is small but there is a hot tub, warm pool (not really big enough to swim in) a sauna, steam room , laconium and various showers. They also let you wander around the hotel in your bathrobes.
This is a good hotel which is not pretentious in any way. I would have no hesitation in recomending it to friends.
